II Operation Guide 1. Charge The Signet Action DV Camera has a built-in lithium rechargeable battery. For first time use, please ensure that the unit is fully charged. To charge the unit, please connect the Signet Action DV to a computer via the USB cable provided. When the unit is plugged-in and charging, a red LED light will illuminate and a blue LED light will flash. 2. Power on Press the Power button once, a Blue LED will illuminate and a Red LED will flash two times the blue LED will then remain on you are now in Standby mode. Press the Record button once, the blue LED will remain on and a Red LED will flash you are now recording digital video. The resolution for video file is 720*480 recording at 30fps (Frames per second). Press the Record button again and the unit will stop recording and the digital video file will be saved automatically. After saving the blue LED indicator will remain on, indicating the unit is on standby. If you need to continue to video, please press the record button once again and you will record further digital video footage. After 30 seconds on standby, the unit will switch-off automatically to save power. NB. The maximum capacity of Micro SD / T-flash card is 8GB 3. Sound control video mode Press the Power button once, the Blue LED light will remain on and a Red LED light will flash two times the blue LED light will then remain on you are now in Standby mode. Once you are in Standby Mode, please press the MODE button once - a Red LED will flash continuously you have now switched into sound control video mode. In Sound control mode, if there is a sound above 60 decibels, then the digital video recorder will be triggered automatically and digital video footage will be taken automatically.
When the Signet Action DV Camera is in sound control mode and begins recording, the shortest digital video recording time the unit will record is 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, if there is no sound, the unit will save the file automatically and switch into standby mode. If there is sound above 60 decibels again, the unit will begin to take further digital video footage. 4.Power off Under video or standby mode, please press the Power button for 3 seconds and then release it until the LED indicator switches-off. The unit will now be switched-off. 5. Auto-power off function The Signet Action DV Camera will automatically save files and switch-off in the following circumstances: a. When you record video without enough charge the file will be saved and the unit will switch-off automatically. b. When the Micro SD / T-Flash Card space is full the LED indicator will switch-off immediately and any file will be saved automatically and the unit will switch-off automatically. c. After 30 seconds on standby, the unit will switch-off automatically to save power. 7.View digital video files Connect the Signet Action DV Camera to your computer via USB cable provided, a mass storage / portable disk device will be seen. Open the Mass storage device and open and play back the digital video files on the device. You can use Windows Media Player, Quicktime or Real Player as playback software. NB. For best results, copy and paste the Video files onto your computer and play them directly from your computer to ensure a smooth uninterrupted video play, in some cases large video files may not be play smoothly due to their file size. 8.Reset In the unusual event that there is an error during operation the device and the device will not record or function or unit will not switch-off, please reset the unit by pressing the reset button by inserting a pin into the reset hole to reset - the device will now be in Switch-off mode. 9. Time / Date stamp
The DV Camera is able to stamp the date and time of the video which is being recorded. To set the correct date and time, open the folder to the DV Camera in my computer once you have connected it via the USB Cable to your computer. Then inside the folder next to the DCIM Folder, right click your mouse and create a TXT File name this file tag and save the document as a text file. The file named tag must be in lower case letters. Open the tag.txt folder, place [date] at the top press return and place the date in the following format set the time format: 2010/11/02. Now press return and on the next line set the time in the following 24hr format 10:01:00 Now save the file, unplug your DV Camera from the USB Cable and switch the DV camera off and turn it back on - the Time set is now completed.
