Forum for City Logistics A tri-city co-operation - Copenhagen, Aalborg and Aarhus The Ministry of Transport supports the project Project period April 2001 - December 2003

The main objectives A solutions in municipalities approach to practical. The aim is: To establish a forum for new ideas and solutions for efficient goods transport. To learn from and use experience from other European cities and countries. To share our knowledge with municipalities in Denmark and other European cities.

Environmental zone scheme in Aarhus City Plan To introduce an obligatory environmental zone ordinance for the citys pedestrian streets Means Prohibit vehicles over 6 tons total weight Aim To reduce noise and emission To enhance the visual intrusion the area To minimize the impact and damage on the street foundation

Certification scheme in Copenhagen Green certificate Average loading capacity must be 60% (over 3 months) Engine must be younger than 8 years Utilization of loading capacity must be reported to the municipality every 3 months Gives the right to use loading zones Costs DKr 260 (35 Euro) Valid for the whole trial period

Certification scheme in Copenhagen Yellow certificate Vehicle no longer than 5 meter Vehicle not heavier than 3.500 kg Vehicle not older than 6 years Company must carry out repair or service jobs (e.g. carpenters) Costs DKr 260 (35 Euro) Valid for 6 months

Certification scheme in Copenhagen Red certificate An option for those who rarely drive in the inner city No restrictions Can be bought at approximately 25 Petrol Stations on streets leading to the designated area Costs DKr 40 (6 Euro) Valid for one day
