General: Submit the following in accordance with Conditions of Contract and Division 01 Specification Sections: 1. Submit Shop Drawings and product data. Include materials, component profiles, fastening methods, assembly methods, joint details, accessory listings, and schedule of finishes. a. Include data for fire-retardant treatment from chemical treatment manufacturer and certification by treating plant that treated materials comply with requirements. 1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Countertops, Tub/Shower surrounds and window stools shall be supplied by one manufacturer. Where shown to be the same color, the color of the components shall match for all items. Refer to [Sleep Inn, Inn & Suites Interior Finish Specifications] for colors. B. Allowable Tolerances: 1. Variation in component size: +/- 1/8 inch. 2. Location of openings: +/- 1/8 inch from indicated location. C. D. Fire-Test-Response Characteristics: Where fire-retardant materials or products are indicated, provide materials and products with specified fire-test-response characteristics as determined by testing identical products per test method indicated by UL, ITS, or another testing and inspecting agency acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction. Identify with appropriate markings of applicable testing and inspecting agency in the form of separable paper label or, where required by authorities having jurisdiction, imprint on surfaces of materials that will be concealed from view after installation. 1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING A. Do not deliver Cultured Marble materials until painting and similar operations that could damage synthetic marble have been completed in installation areas. If cast polymer materials must be stored in other than installation areas, store only in areas where environmental conditions comply with requirements specified in "Project Conditions" Article. B. Handle materials to prevent damage to finished surfaces. Provide protective coverings to prevent physical damage or staining following installation for duration of project. 1.6 PROJECT CONDITIONS A. Environmental Limitations: Do not deliver or install Cultured Marble materials until building is enclosed, wet work is complete, and HVAC system is operating and maintaining temperature and relative humidity at occupancy levels during the remainder of the construction period. B. Field Measurements: Where Cultured Marble materials are indicated to fit to other construction, verify dimensions of other construction by field measurements before fabrication and indicate measurements on Shop Drawings. Coordinate fabrication schedule with construction progress to avoid delaying the Work. 1. General Contractor to locate concealed framing, blocking, and reinforcements that support cast polymer materials work by field measurements before being enclosed and indicate measurements on Shop Drawings. 1.7 SPECIAL WARRANTY A. Cultured Marble Materials: 1. Provide one (1) year Warranty against manufacturing defects. PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.1 CULTURED MARBLE A. Qualified Manufacturers: 1. Mincey Marble Manufacturing Co. Wall Panels: 1. Signature Shower Design: Homogeneous molded panels. Surrounds to be Cultured Marble wall panels; installed as indicated on Drawings. No horizontal seams or trim strips permitted. Provide multiple section custom configuration. Sizes as shown on Drawings. Color as shown in Sleep Inn, Inn & Suites Interior Finish Specifications. a. Provide matching one-piece Shower Pan with integral curbs. b. Provide corner mounted soap dishes in locations, configurations, and sizes as shown on Drawings. 2. Standard Bathtub and Accessible Roll-In Shower: 1/4" thick molded panels. Surrounds to be Cultured Marble wall panels; installed as indicated on Drawings. No horizontal seams or trim strips shall be permitted. Provide one piece for each wall. Joints will be permitted at corners only. Sizes as shown on Drawings. Color as shown in Sleep Inn, Inn & Suites Interior Finish Specifications. a. Provide integral soap dishes in locations, configurations, and sizes as shown on Drawings. 2.3 INSTALLATION MATERIALS A. Adhesive and Sealant (Installer to verify products are approved by Cultured Marble materials Manufacturer): 1. Qualified Manufacturers: a. "DAP 2000", DAP, Inc. (888-327-8477) 2. 2.4 FABRICATION A. Shop assemble Cultured Marble materials for delivery to site in units easily handled and to permit passage through building openings. B. Shop cut openings, to maximum extent possible, to receive hardware, appliances, plumbing fixtures, electrical work, and similar items. Locate openings accurately and use templates or roughing-in diagrams to produce accurately sized and shaped openings. 1. Rout and finish component edges with clean, sharp returns. Rout cutouts, radii and contours to template. Smooth edges. Repair or reject defective and inaccurate work. C. When necessary to cut and fit on site, provide materials with ample allowance for cutting. Provide trip for scribing and site cutting. D. Provide cutouts for plumbing fixtures, inserts, appliances, outlet boxes, and other fixtures and fittings. E. Coordinate mounting of soap dishes, grab rails, and other accessories, as indicated on the Drawings. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.1 INSPECTION A. Verify adequacy of backing and support framing. 3.2 PREPARATION A. Condition cast polymer materials to average prevailing humidity conditions in installation areas before installation. 3.3 INSTALLATION A. All surrounds shall be installed as shown on Drawings and as specified by manufacturer. B. Install components plumb, level and rigid, scribed to adjacent finishes, in accordance with approved shop drawings and product data. C. Adhere using manufacturer's recommended sealant, adhesive and mounting hardware. Wipe clean with to remove any contaminants prior to applying adhesives as recommended by manufacturer. D. Tub/Shower Surrounds: 1. Remove all dust and other contaminants from the back side of all panels before installation. 2. Secure soap dishes to panels with adhesive as recommended by Manufacturer. 3. Hold bottom edge of wall panel above rim of tub and shower for application of sealant as shown on Drawings. 3.4 ADJUSTING AND CLEANING A. Keep components clean during installation. Remove adhesives, sealants and other stains. Keep clean until Date of Substantial Completion. Replace stained and damaged components. B. Protect surfaces from damage until Date of Substantial Completion. Repair work or replace damaged work which cannot be repaired to Owner Representative s satisfaction. 06 61 13 (06610)-Page 4 of 5
