Club Registrars are asked to download a Team Manager file from our website at www.okac.ca and then enter the event selections for their athletes. The file is saved and then emailed to the Meet Registrar at kelownatrackmanager@gmail.com. Athletes and events entered can be changed up to midnight on Sunday June 22 nd, 2014. Please double check the name, gender and year of birth and BC Athletics number (or equivalent) of each of your athletes. Unattached athletes: Athletes that are not part of a track and field club that is affiliated with a provincial athletic association need to download an unattached entry form from our website at www.okac.ca and then enter their name, gender, date of birth, BC Athletics number and the events they want to enter. Best performance information for all events entered is helpful. The deadline for entering is Friday, June 20 th, 2014. Elementary, Middle and High School (unattached) Athletes: Elementary, Middle and High School aged athletes who do not hold a 2016 BC Athletics membership need to download a School Athlete entry form from our website at www.okac.ca and then enter their name, gender, date of birth and the events they want to enter. Best performance information for all events entered is helpful. The deadline for entering is Friday, June 24 th, 2016. If you need assistance with registration procedures, please contact the Meet Registrar at manager@okac.ca REGISTRATION PACKAGES: Pick up registration packages starting at 4:00 pm, Friday July 1 st or 7:30 am, Saturday July 2 nd at the Apple Bowl. Packages are organized by club and must be paid for and picked up before any athlete in the club can participate in the meet. 3
AWARDS: The top three finishers in each event will receive a medal, with the exception of relay teams. Athletes finishing 4th through 8th in each event will receive a ribbon (except Masters). Relay teams will receive ribbons. Medals and ribbons may be picked up at the awards table near the finish line 30 minutes after the event results are posted. Sorry, no early pick-ups allowed. Awards not picked-up will not be mailed. Results will be posted on our website at www.okac.ca and linked to the BC Athletics website at www.bcathletics.org. Saturday, July 2 nd at 8:00 am at the Apple Bowl at the front of the grandstand. A Jury of Appeal, consisting of three qualified persons selected from guest club coaches during the Coaches Meeting. Member's names will be posted on the results board adjacent to the registration. The Jury will be available to deal with any protest arising during the meet. All IAAF, Athletics Canada and BC Athletics rules will apply. Note: Athletes who scratch from an event final that has advanced from a preliminary round are ineligible to compete in any subsequent events at the meet. FinishLynx Photo Finish Timing Wind gauges will be used for athletes aged 14 years and older competing in track events 200m and shorter and in horizontal jumps. The Okanagan Athletics Club will supply all official equipment. Athletes wishing to use their own throwing implements may do so, but must have them checked in and weighed. Predetermined weighin times will be posted at the beginning of each day. We recommend athletes weigh in their implements early on the day of competition. Track and Horizontal Jumps: 6mm maximum High Jump and Javelin: 9mm maximum Use fields outside the Apple Bowl Stadium. Please stay off the infield. Check-in for all field events is at the event site. Check-in for all track events is at the event start line area. All athletes must check-in a minimum of 20 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. ORDER OF EVENTS: Track events run youngest to oldest, female and then male (with exceptions in hurdles). 4

When deemed practical, age groups and genders may be combined to run together, but will be scored separately. Athletes may compete in only one age division per event. Refer to the relay section for information about age groupings for relays. LIMITED ENTRIES: COMPETITOR NUMBERS: START LISTS: The number of heats and sections will be limited by the length of the day. Each athlete will be issued a competitor number. Numbers must be worn on the front for both track and field events. Start lists and heat sheets will be displayed on the boards at the entrance to the Apple Bowl near the registration area. Track events will be run according to the schedule posted on the day of the meet, which may differ from that published in the meet information package. Track heat sheets are subject to change based on scratches, no shows and consolidations for meet efficiency. Coaches and athletes must pay attention to the pace of the meet and prepare accordingly. SIMULTANEOUS EVENTS: Track events will not be delayed. Athletes should report to their field event to check in. A delay in returning to a field event may result in missed attempts. Every effort will be made to accommodate athletes in the 2003-2007 age divisions. 5
SEEDING: QUALIFYING FOR FINALS: Athletes will be seeded for heats, finals and timed finals, so please indicate results achieved by the athlete in the past year. Entries without seed times will be treated as slower. Coaches and athletes should be able to verify performances from sanctioned meets held in the 2015 and 2016 outdoor seasons. In the 100m, the winner in each heat will advance plus the next fastest runners. In case of a tie for 8th place, the better place for a finish in the heat will determine the winner. If still tied, the athlete from the heat with the slowest winning time will qualify. If 8 or fewer athletes are entered in a heat, then the event will be run as a final at the scheduled heat time. All Masters age 100 m races will be run as timed finals during the 100 m finals. All 100 m races for athletes age 9-13 will be run as timed finals during the heat section. RELAYS: SHOT/DISCUS/JAVELIN & HAMMER THROWS: OFFICIALS CLINIC: (PLANNED) HOSPITALILTY TENT: Team registrations will be accepted on Saturday, July 2 nd, only. Team registrations registration cut-off will be two hours before the relays begin. The fee to enter a relay team is $20.00 per event Athletes born 2003-2007 will be allowed three attempts. Athletes born in 2002 and before will initially receive three attempts, with the top 8 receiving an additional three attempts. A Level 1 Officials Clinic is currently planned and will be open to all parents, coaches and athletes. Approximately 1 ½ hours and will cover the basics of officiating track and field events. Location will be at the Apple Bowl on Friday evening at a time to be determined. Registration is FREE but to ensure there is sufficient interest to hold the clinic, pre-registration is requested.
