Exporting 3D PDF files from Revit 3D PDF files exported using SimLab 3D PDF exporter for Revit, use custom created PDF templates. Before attempting to export to 3D PDF, the user should select/create the template to use for file export. This can be done by clicking PDF Settings button in the plugins new ribbon under the Add-Ins menu inside Revit. This will open the PDF Settings dialog, to learn more about different 3D PDF settings, click PDF Help in the plugins ribbon in Revit. With a template selected click Export to PDF, in the plugins ribbon. The Scenes manager dialog will appear where a user can select the Scenes / Cameras to include in the exported 3D PDF file. The Check All button in the dialog will select all the views, and the Check None will deselect them all. The up and down arrows will change the order of the views. The Cameras tab in the dialog includes the exported cameras in the selected scene. By default a 3D View camera is stored for each scene. Exporting different scenes of the model stores/exports different versions of the model thus Increases the size of the generated PDF file. This can be necessary in case of changing the model s location or changing the model itself, like adding a section plane to it. 7

If the model does not change between the different 3D scenes, it is better to merge the scenes into a selected one with different cameras. A user can undo the merge by clicking the Undo merge button. Different 2D scenes will still be exported into the 3D PDF file. 8
