PartnerNet Self-Registration Steps for Symantec partners 1

Who should read this guide? This guide is intended to be read by the Primary Contact or Contact Administrators at existing Symantec partner companies that want to set up their self-registration functionality. This guide is also intended to be read users needing access to PartnerNet and are employed by companies that are an existing Symantec partner. The guide provides detailed screenshots of each step of both processes. Enrollment in the Symantec Partner Program is required to gain access to PartnerNet. 2

Self-Registration setup Self-Registration is optional for all partners to enable Public domains are restricted to be used to register as your company domain (i.e. Yahoo.com, Gmail.com, Hotmail.com) Partners using multiple or public domain names can still have new contacts added manually using the Add Contact functionality If a company is not Self-Registration enabled, new contacts will be directed to the Regional Symantec Partner Program Managers or the Partner Primary Contact for assistance to be added to PartnerNet 3

Self-Registration setup After logging into PartnerNet as a Primary Contact or Contact Administrator, navigate to Contact Self- Registration Setup 4

Self-Registration setup On Contact Self-Registration screen, enter details as follows: Allow Self Registration: Select Yes Company Email Domain: Unique information after @, only one domain per company Email address for notification: Optional, auto notification will be sent to this address as new users are added by self registration Click Submit 5

Self-Registration Go to the PartnerNet login page Navigate to the section below Sign in (selfregistration use only) Click Request PartnerNet access > 7

Create a SymAccount Create SymAccount if needed. Click Sign up now > If not, skip to page 9 8

Create SymAccount profile Enter details Note - Characters in box are numbers only Click Submit 9

Existing SymAccount Sign In Enter SymAccount username & password in Sign In section Click Forgot your SymAccount password if you need to reset 10

Select Company The system will search for match based on SymAccount email domain and country If a match is found, select appropriate company name Click Continue 11

Verify your email address Verification code sent immediately to user via email Enter code & click submit Clicking Continue as a guest will return user to unauthenticated pages (view before login) 12

Self-Registration Complete Page refreshes to authenticated PartnerNet homepage (pages after log in) 13

Troubleshooting - Alternate scenarios 14

Scenario #1 Email address is already used System will show error message if attempting to create a new SymAccount but user has an existing account Reset SymAccount password if needed 15

Scenario #2 Company Not Found If the system is unable to make an exact domain & country match, try to update SymAccount (edits may create a match) Contact us will send a request to the Regional Partner Program Manager for manual user creation Continue as guest will display unauthenticated pages before login 16

Scenario #3 Active SymAccount not associated with PartnerNet Users may have an existing, active SymAccount but when they attempt to log into PartnerNet, they are told Access Not Available Currently signed into your SymAccount only User may attempt Self-Registration process Click user registration link or return to Self-Registration section on PartnerNet homepage 17

Scenario #4 Company not setup for Self-Registration If company is not set up for Self-Registration, system cannot make a domain & country match Manual user creation needed Contact us will send a request to the Regional Partner Program Manager for manual user creation Continue as guest will display unauthenticated pages before login Alternatively, user may request PartnerNet access from company Primary Contact 18

Scenario #4 Company not setup for Self-Registration We recommend you send a request to your Regional Partner Program Manager for manual user creation Please allow 48 hours for manual user creation Click Submit 19
