Data sheet turbidity and suspended solids meter General SuSix is an on-line turbidity and suspended solids meter. The connected sensor determines the measuring range. Measurements are indicated in mg/l, %, ppm or FTU (Formasin Turbidity Unit). The measuring system consists of a universal measuring amplifier, a sensor and fitting for mounting the sensor. Measuring signals are amplified in the sensor, allowing the measuring signal to be transmitted over a substantial distance and to avoid error signals. Special Features The measuring system is easy to install, calibrate and maintain. Well-tried sensor technique using 4-beam pulsating infrared light. Built-in preamplifier ensure noise-free input signal and allows cable lengths up to 200 m. Galvanically isolated ma-output, 4 limit relays, high/low alarm plus a relay for autocleaning and system error. µ-processor-controlled amplifier, programmable with zero suppression, scalable units (NTU, PPM, mg/l. g/l, %). Any linearization can be chosen. Possibility of 4 calibration curves for adaptation to different types of sludge. Application SuSix is used in sewage plants to control sludge in basins, to measure and control sludge return pumps, to measure waste sludge, solids in sludge thickeners and determination of turbidity in outlets. SuSix is used in industries for determination of turbidity in processes, of solids in products such as food and pharmaceuticals and for monitoring in waste water systems. Function The SuSix sensor measures with 90 º scattered IR light. At low measuring values, where the scattering is measured, the amount of particles are directly proportional to turbidity. Concentration is measured as the absorption of IR light in the liquid. SuSix turbidity meter measures according to ISO 2027, where 90 º scattering are standard for measuring of turbidity in FTU. Data sheet sensors General Determination of suspended solids, turbidity and contents of sludge is important in many processes in sewage plants and industries. For suspended solids measurement we deliver a number of sensors for various measuring functions. Special features Approved sensor technique using 4-beam pulsating infrared light. Built-in pre-amplifier in the sensor limits noise and allows cable length up to 200 m between sensor and amplifier. Measurement principle Turbidity is measured as the difference of direct and 90º scattered IR light. Concentration is measured as the absorption of IR light in the liquid.
