MTH II, HIGH PRODUCTION, HYDRAULIC PRESS BRAKES HYDRAULIC CONTROLLED FORMING, AT MECHANICAL SPEEDS Fabl;cation facilities throughout the country are realizing the production advaritages of owning a Wysong MTH II hydraulic press brake. They are finding that the MTH II series feature the fastest operating speeds available. and a highly reliable machine design to ensure longer uptime with less yearly maintenance. Users are finding that these machines dramatically reduce operating cost and overhead while assuring their production department of more parts per day. If your fabricating operation needs to increase press brake production. evaluate the benefits and features the MTH II series has to offer. BUILT FOR SPEED AND CONTROL Whether you're bottom bending or air bending. the MTH II provides easy setup adjustments and flexible hydraulic control to quickly adjust the ram speed to suit your application needs. MTH II-Bottom bending at 23 strokes per minute MTH II-HS-Bottom bending at 41 strokes per minute Speed adjustment to control sheet whip-up. and ram repeatability for air bending Low yearly maintenance attributed to a durable machine design coupled with a simple hydraulic circuit Easy ram tilting for fade-out work and die alignment Quick ram adjustment of bottom stop. speed change and stroke length Manual tonnage control One shot lubrication

UNMATCHED FORMING EFFICIENCIES FROM TWO MODELS Whether your press brake needs are for air bending or bottoming, high volume or regular production runs, MTH II press b~akes offer improved production levels from two models. Compare our operating speeds and features against "other" press brakes and see why Wysong is your smartest press brake investment for fast return and long term operating efficiency. A SIMPLE HYDRAULICS PACKAGE PROVIDES LOW MAINTENANCE AND HIGH PRODUCTION OPERATION The simple, uncluttered, hydraulics package incorporates all the valving in a single hydraulic manifold. The monoblock manifold design reduces the amount of tubing and connections to ensure ease of maintenance, if ever required. The aircraft quality steel tubing is flared, fitted, neatly arranged, and connected for a lifetime of hydraulic integrity. Because the speed of the ram is gravity assisted in approach. higher operating speeds are obtainable with lower power levels, and with less oil volume. With less oil requirement, the oil reservoir is designed substantially narrower to permit the forming of long parts with, acute angles, above the height of the machine. MODEL MTH II 72 ( TON BY 6 FOOT CAPACITY)

HEAVY, MONOBLOCK HYDRAULIC CYLINDERS The cylinders are monoblock construction and are machined from blocks of forged 1141 steel. The bore in the cylinders is honed to a 16 micro-inch finish. The monoblock design reduces seal interfaces. wear points and load concentration. The monoblock cylinder provides far superior strength and sealing characteristics compared to the traditional tube and end cap design. The pistons are precision finished. induction hardened. and are fitted with high quality. pressure sensitive seals. The piston rods are accurately guided through the stroke by multiple nonmetallic bearings. The heavy cylinder mounting plates are machined with a shoulder to provide positive location for the cylinders. This ensures that the mounting bolts are never in a shear condition when the machine is under load. The design also transfers the forming load to the frames and provides a large bearing surface. The mounting plate weldments are engineered to withstand a shear load equal to six times the maximum tonnage rating of the press brake. Highly reliable PLC simulates relay logic and reduces the amount of electrical circuitry to ensure easier, faster servicing and trouble shooting. ~.

FOUR POINT, RAM GUIDING SYSTEM To ensure positive lateral and vertical stability of the ram as it travels through the stroke. Wysong uses four widely spaced. nonmetallic ram guides and two precision roller guides. When the machine is under load. the work force is distributed to four points rather than two. The four point guiding system eliminates excessive wear to the gibs when forming large sheets of plate that produce rear loading on the ram. True center line loading is achieved through this reliable guiding system and the spherical connector interface between the ram and piston rods. RAM BRACE FOR STRAIGHTNESS An adjustable brace is mounted to the back of the ram to provide a straightness of±.001" per foot along the length of the ram. HEAVY TORQUE TUBE DESIGN The large torque tube stabilizes both ends of the ram to ensure ram parallelism during operation. An eccentric on one end of the torque tube assembly allows for easy adjustment of ram tilt to compensate for worn tooling. or to permit fade-out bending t, \) V.~~ ~ --------...:...,... For improved setup and material handling. MTH II press brakes can be easily integrated to the more popular CNC gauging systems available. The press brake shown is equipped with a Hurco two axis back gauge.

1:1 II m ~ ronha(oe CONTROL CHAAT too lohliqot\."...z:'.' STROKE CONTROL The easy access stroke control unit provides quick ram adjustment of stroke length, speed change point and ram bottom stop position. The stroke length and speed change point are adjusted by quick adjusting cams, while the bottom stop is positioned by a handwheel attached to a precision lead screw. TOP STOP - or stroke length is quickly adjusted by moving the Top Stop indicator up or down. For a smaller shut height, for more strokes per minute. the indicator is positioned further up the scale. SPEED CHANGE - is adjusted to where the operator wants the approach speed to shift to press speed to avoid sheet whip-up. By moving the indicator up, the speed change occurs closer to the work. BOnOM STOP - is a fine adjustment for accurately controlling the lower limit of ram travel. The Bottom Stop handwheel adjusts the ram to control the upper die penetration for air bending work. When performing bottoming operations, the upper die is easily positioned to compensate for the material thickness to be formed. TONNAGE CONTROL MTH II press brakes are furnished with a manual tonnage control that allows easy adjustment of the tonnage to suit the material to be formed. After you have determined the tonnage required for the material to be formed, you simply dial in the appropriate tonnage with the control knob. Easy adjustable tonnage increases the life of the tooling and machine by allowing the operator to adjust the pressure to meet individual job requirements. LOW SPEED CONTROL To assist in the repeatability of the ram, especially when forming light gauge material, the low speed control slows the ram speed to ensure better than ±.002" ram repeatability for air bending operations. RAM TILT ADJUSTMENT Easy ram tilt adjustment is provided to compensate for worn tools, material variations and operations requiring fade-out. The ram can be tilted up to 1/4". FLUSH FLOOR BED DESIGN Flush floor bed design is available on all models from tons to tons, up to fourteen feet bending capacity. The flush floor design eliminates the high cost of constructing a pit to accommodate below-the-floor, bed designed press brakes.

STANDARD CONSTRUCTION FEATURES FRAME Welded steel construction with contoured stress points. Narrow hydraulic tank welded between the frames, in the upper section, and shaped to eliminate any interference in the work area.
