All student work is to be submitted for judging. The following things will need to be provided; Design folio with all sketches, annotations and justification for chosen design. Please provide a valid thought process of what you have actually done. Completed prototype. The orthographic and pictorial drawings can be drawn manually or using a computer aided drafting (CAD) program. Winning Schools will be presented with plaques PROJECT TURNING CATEGORY Students are asked to produce an article using any method of turning available. The article could be turned on the wood or metal lathe in the workshop. Schools can decide on a brief for students to complete the task. Judging 1. Originality 2. Workmanship 3. Finish 4. Aesthetics

M e c h a n i c a l a n d E l e c t r i c a l D e s i g n A w a r d s DIVISION A Senior Mechanical/Electrical/Robotics Design Years 11 12 First Prize: Each Division $150.00 each Runner up: Each Division $100.00 each Encouragement Awards: Each Division $ 50.00 each Students are required to design a project with moving parts or one which moves with the aid of a motor. A design folio can be submitted with the project. Photos can be used to display larger project Students will be judged on the following: Concept Complexity / simplicity of Design Standard of Manufacture... DIVISION B JUNIOR MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL/Robotics DESIGN Years 7 10 Students are required to design a project with moving parts and could incorporate mouse trap powered vehicles, rubber band powered projects. Lego Dacta and the like. CO2 dragsters will be accepted in this category also. A design folio will be required with the project Students will be judged on the following: Concept Complexity /simplicity of Design Standard of Manufacture

D A T T A C o n s t r u c t i o n A w a r d s Senior Construction Project Award Year 11 12 First Prize: $150.00 Runner up: $100.00 Encouragement Awards: $ 50.00 Students are required to construct a project for their School or Community organisation. The project can be completed by an individual, group, or an entire class depending on the complexity and time for its production. Examples: Paving Seating Construction Signage Tables Landscaping To be eligible, the entry must include the following: Situation, Design brief, Working drawings, Procedure, The finished article via photographs Students will be judged in the following: Concept / Design Suitability Complexity / Simplicity of design Standard of Manufacture Submissions of Entries: Some projects may be too large to put on display. We encourage entrants to use photographic evidence of the project s construction.
