Did you know that our menus include a variety of Heart Healthy options every day? Here are some examples of the delicious & nutritious selections we offer every day for your health & enjoyment. Slow Roasted Meats Most of the meats offered on our menu, such as pork loin & beef, are slow roasted. Roasting is a method of cooking that keeps fat content to a minimum by increasing the amount of fat runoff in the cooking process. Slow roasting also helps maintain flavor & moisture of the meat by preserving its natural juices. Fresh Fruit of the Day Each day our Chefs select from a supply of fresh locally-grown seasonal fruits such as watermelon, cantaloupe, honey dew melon, mango, pineapple, grapes & berries to create a fresh fruit salad. Refreshing & bursting with delicious flavors, you will enjoy this dish as a light breakfast, side dish for any meal, afternoon snack or a light & healthy dessert. Breakfast Fruit Smoothie Enjoy our fruit of the day blended with fruit juices as a nutritious & refreshing drink at breakfast, or at any time of the day. Green Tea This natural tea can help strengthen your immune system.

Citrus Grilled Chicken Breast We offer a grilled chicken breast as one of our standard ala carte menu selections. You can order this as a Heart Healthy Option by ordering this dish made with Salt Free Lemon Pepper & fresh lemon juice at any time of the day. Steamed Vegetables All of our cooked vegetable side dishes are made with salt-free seasonings & fresh herbs as primary flavor enhancers. Also, you can order your vegetables steamed & served without seasoning upon your request. Sugar Free Puddings All of our puddings, pudding pies & pudding mousses are made with sugar free pudding mixes. These puddings are delicious & the variety, quality & texture is outstanding. Tasty & delicious, you would never suspect that these puddings are sugar free. Sugar Free Milkshakes Chose our sugar free milkshakes made with sugar free ice creams, 2% lowfat milk, & sugar free Torani syrups. These delicious milkshakes can be made in dozens of flavor combinations using sugar free or no sugar added ingredients for a healthy & delicious dessert selection. Sugar Free Desserts One of the great additions to our dining menus in 2013 has been an expanded selection of sugar free desserts. Using our creativity & a wide selection of sugar free or no sugar added ingredients we are able to offer a featured sugar free dessert option every day. Our sugar free dessert selections allow you to indulge your sweet tooth without the added calories, fat & sugar of traditional sugary desserts.

Tomatoes Tomatoes are a staple of our local produce selections & we use them in many dishes. Tomatoes contain lycopene, an antioxidant, which may lower the risk of stomach, prostate & lung cancer. Tuna & Salmon These menu staples are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids which reduce the risk of heart disease by lowering triglycerides & preventing inflammation. Salmon, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Eggs, Mushrooms, Garlic, Oranges & Blueberries These delicious foods are commonly used in our menus every day & can help boost your immune system & help ward off cold & flu. Walnuts & Almonds These are the two most commonly used nuts in our daily menus. The polyunsaturated fatty acids in nuts help control type-2 diabetes. Oranges & Bananas These delicious fresh fruits are available to our residents every day. Oranges are rich in Vitamin C & bioflavonoids that are important for eye health & may reduce the risk of cataracts. Bananas are rich in important healthy diet components such as potassium, dietary fiber & vitamin C. Beans

Used in many of our menu selections, beans are rich in protein, dietary fiber, iron, omega 3 & omega 6 fatty acids. Beans can help lower LDL or bad cholesterol & improve digestion. Beans have a low glycemic index, which can be good for diabetics & they make you feel full, which is helpful in maintaining a healthy body weight. Fresh Berries Fresh berries are rich in antioxidants & other vital nutrients that help satisfy your sweet tooth while providing a good source of vitamins & dietary fiber.
