A typical day will depend on the discipline in which you are currently working! During the sales rotation, we'll show you what it takes to sell a GEICO policy. After completing your training and obtaining your insurance license, you will begin offering rate quotes and selling our exceptional products. In customer service, you'll learn how we keep millions of policyholders satisfied and what makes our service associates remarkable. Your rotation through claims will teach you how to investigate minor to major accidents, identify fraud and manage risk. Each rotation includes a chance to job shadow, develop your coaching and supervisory skills, and work on special projects. Within our regional offices, GEICO offers you the chance to launch your career in our selective Supervisor Leadership Program. In this program, you'll spend 12-18 months gaining a comprehensive understanding of one or more of our major business operations, including sales, customer service, claims or auto damage. This is an excellent opportunity for you to learn about our ever-changing industry and fast-track to a supervisor position. GEICO believes that in order for you to be an effective supervisor, you must first understand the intricacies of our business and the job function you'll one day manage. Auto Damage Trainee Entry-level -- Multiple locations available throughout the U.S. This career track is well suited for business and liberal arts majors. Even minor traffic accidents can be traumatic for our policyholders. As an associate in our auto damage operations, you're the customer's link to GEICO and our first line of defense in fraud detection. As an Auto Damage Trainee, you ll attend several weeks of intense training at our industry-leading auto damage school in McLean, Va. While in school, you will learn the ins and outs of automobile damage caused by minor to major accidents and natural disasters. After you successfully complete this training, you ll work at a drive-in or Auto Repair Xpress location, assisting customers that have been involved in an accident. Our classroom and field training will give you the necessary skills and knowledge to become an Auto Damage Adjuster. A typical day as an adjuster includes: interacting with customers and keeping them informed, inspecting vehicle damage, estimating the cost of vehicle repairs, and negotiating equitable settlements. Your responsibilities will take you to a policyholder's home, auto repair shops, salvage yards or the scene of an accident, sometime during your career. You'll be mentored by a Sr. Auto Damage Adjuster until you're ready to write estimates on your own. At that time, we'll provide you with the latest technology in computer estimating software, a company car, and the tools you'll need to effectively do your job. You ll be working independently and make decisions that affect GEICO s bottom line. Our adjusters work flexible schedules, allowing GEICO to be there for our policyholders. Many of our trainees advance through this career track and become senior adjusters, trainers and supervisors.
