LED Lighting Stanley LED Lighting Our LED lighting combines light distribution techniques developed in the automotive field with LED technology, and is used for lighting throughout the building. We have also added lighting developed in collaboration with Lighting Design Inc. and introduced enhanced energy-saving features through power consumption reduction as well as the creation of abundant lighting suited to the areas where it is installed. Entrance Future Room These waterproof LED lighting have passed advanced reliability tests, including tests for exhaust gas leakage, vibration, and heat shock. Even in harsh outdoor conditions, they offer bright light and outstanding durability. High-powered LED lighting with innovative lens design. Soft light distributed through 80 degrees illuminates the entire room. Even when these lights are mounted in rows, there is no waste and uniform light levels are achieved. Objet d Art: Toki no Kasanari (time overlapping) History Room A high-grade spotlight utilizing projector headlight technology. Uses a one-core LED to enhance the theatrical effect by adding graceful shadows to the artwork. Regular LED lighting tends to create waste in corner spaces, but our advanced light distribution technology links several modules while casting uniform light over a wide area. LED Lighting Common-use Areas LED Bulbs Office Areas Ceiling Lights Cafeteria Ambient Lighting Collaboration with Lighting Design Inc. Exterior Wall Wall Washers Collaboration with Lighting Design Inc. Warm white LED lighting enabling smooth light regulation is used to achieve brightness and light rendition appropriate to areas where people need to relax and concentrate. Stanley s line lighting has been teamed with existing integrated system ceilings to achieve both versatility and attractive design. These newly-developed integrated system ceilings with built-in lighting enable flexible layout. Connectable line-type light sources have been combined with diffusive lenses to create ambient lighting that illuminates in the manner of surface-emitting lighting. Slim design facilitates space-saving installation. Waterproof wall washers are used outside. Illuminating a three-meter wall from top to bottom, they highlight the features of the stone wall to cast a unique pattern of shadows. Communication Hub LED Floodlights Collaboration with Lighting Design Inc. Corridor Walls Wall Washers Collaboration with Lighting Design Inc. Basement Parking Lot Ceiling Lights Outside Lighting LED Floodlights Collaboration with Lighting Design Inc. Multi-colored LED floodlights incorporating red, green, blue, and white LEDs act as both base lighting and stage lighting. An array of lights set at varying angles of 15, 20, and 30 degrees casts uniform light across the illuminated area. Conventional wall washers cast shadows, but our newly-developed lighting uses original lens technology to shed light uniformly down walls approximately 2.8 m high. Compact, powerful LED lighting achieve uniform illumination with a minimum of fittings. Power consumption of just 37 W leads to energy-savings of around 60% compared to 100 W mercury lamps. Compact LED floodlights measuring approximately 180 mm 2 are mounted on the 5th floor eaves to brightly light the exterior 17.5 m below. 12 13

Use of Natural Energy Light Solar Panels and Natural Lighting Solar panels are mounted on the sloped portion of the roof to make effective use of natural energy. These panels can generate around 33,000 kwh of electricity a year. Skylights, exterior louvers, and reflectors fill the open-ceilinged spaces with soft ambient light. Air Natural Ventilation The open-ceilinged spaces throughout the building are used to naturally ventilate office areas and save energy in the mild spring and autumn seasons. Water Use of Rain Water Rain falling on the rooftop and roof panels is stored and filtered in an underground tank for use in toilet cisterns and plant watering. Solar panels Natural light Rainwater is stored in an underground tank Natural ventilation using open-ceilinged spaces BEMS Building Energy Management System BEMS is an integrated system for managing air conditioning, lighting, and other building equipment. Comprising meters, scales, controllers, monitors, data storage and analysis units, and diagnostic devices, the system achieves optimum control by enhancing the visibility of energy usage. Energy Management System CASBEE Class S Rating The Comprehensive Assessment System for Built Environment Efficiency (CASBEE) is a tool for evaluating building quality from perspectives including eco-friendly features such as use of energy-saving and low-environmental-load materials, interior comfort, and exterior appearance. Our new head office building has achieved the highest Class S rating. Spaces decorated by the expressive play of light In addition to LED lighting tailored to each area, our new head office features artistic lighting in collaboration with Lighting Design Inc. and a sculpture by Takayuki Otsuki, decorating its interior and exterior spaces with the expressive play of light. EXPRESSION 16 17

Artwork by Takayuki Otsuki Sculptor and Nihon University Professor Toki no Kasanari (time overlapping) This sculpture was made by heating and gradually bending a square steel bar. Morning, noon, and dusk, the ceaselessly changing light illuminates the organic form of the steel and casts shadows, creating a space where we can physically sense the passage of time. Takayuki Otsuki Sculptor and Nihon University College of Art Professor First recipient of the sculpture scholarship awarded by the Kitano Foundation of Lifelong Integrated Education, established in 1975 by Stanley Electric Co., Ltd. founder Takaharu Kitano. After graduating from the Fine Arts Department of the Nihon University College of Art, Otsuki was sent to Europe by the university as an overseas researcher. Working mainly in steel, he explores the relationship between art and place through his sculptures, including installations. His works have been displayed in numerous individual and group exhibitions. Dynamic Theme-Zone We have used 99 Stanley LED floodlights to create a new space with dynamic light Regular illumination using white LED lighting as a base is supplemented by dynamic seasonal changes Light Sculpture Artistic lighting in collaboration with Lighting Design Inc.
