Tips When recording, determine where you are going to look (either at the camera or at the screen) and try to stay with that decision. Looking around can be distracting for the viewer. Remember that these initial recordings are being stored on your computer so make sure you have enough available drive space. To help you estimate the required space here are a few guidelines for a 10 minute recording:: Recording Configuration File Size Video and Screencast - Actual Size Video and Screencast - Quarter/Smaller Size Audio only and Screencast - Actual Size Audio only and Screencast - Quarter/Smaller Size 163.6 MB 82.19 MB 129.56 MB 47.49 MB When recording screencasts with small text, such as webpages and/or Word documents, record the screen at Actual Size. Quarter/Smaller size makes the text unreadable. Adapted with permission from Echo 360 Personal Capture. College of Charleston, SC August 2012. 22
