Overview XVL Tools 1 Overview XVL Tools With XVL (extensible Virtuel world description Language) we provide a 3D format basing on XML that allows for the continuous use of 3D data throughout your company. Since Docware integrated the XVL Player of Lattice Technology with the parts catalogue software PARTS- PUBLISHER the 3D XVL format can also be used for the provision and illustration of parts catalogues. Docware sells XVL products and provides first level support in Europe. There are different tools available for the creation and processing of XVL data. XVL Converters 2 XVL Converters 2.1 Product Description XVL Converters translate all major CAD and 3D data formats into XVL, typically compressing 3D models 1/20 to 1/250 (98%). XVL Converters access CAD models through the respective CAD system, and achieve breakthrough ultra-compression by expressing the model as highly compressed 3D surfaces that maintain both high accuracy and the visual integrity of the original data. XVL Studio 3 XVL Studio 3.1 Product Description XVL Studio is the core authoring tool for making 3D design data into 3D manufacturing data, to enable digital manufacturing, DMU and technical illustration, direct from 3D, across an enterprise. XVL Studio from Lattice Technology makes sense out of your digital manufacturing, design-tomanufacture and digital prototyping workflows without requiring you to switch from existing 3D CAD applications and PLM systems or using CAD seats or additional resources. There are 3 versions, Basic, Standard and Pro and add-on options available for each version. 3.2 XVL Studio Basic XVL Studio Basic is a full function 3D viewer with basic 3D editing and authoring capabilities, including measurement, annotation and cross-sectioning functions. It has XVL data editing functions such as material/ texture editing, IGES/Polygon import, and combinations of multiple XVL models. It is ideal for entry-level 3D data users. 3.3 XVL Studio Standard XVL Studio Standard provides all the enhancement functions for 3D publishing and downstream use of XVL data, including all the capabilities of XVL Studio Basic plus animation with key frames and process design, definition and documentation. XVL Player Pro includes all of the functionality of XVL Player plus advanced engineering capabilities such as: measurement, cross sectioning, and data visualization analysis. The XVL Player Pro interface features an expanded toolbar, enhanced menus, an integrated help manual, and supplementary information windows. 6.2 Key Benefits Viewing of CAD and other models - Convert almost any 3D CAD or other 3D digital model (Converters supplied as optional upgrades) to the highly compressed and accurate XVL file format and then view using XVL Player Pro to zoom, pan, rotate... and more.
