SCHOOL OF MEDICINE AND HEALTH The University of Papua New Guinea s School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) is a significant contributor to the health workforce needs and health knowledge of the country and thus the overall health improvements of the country s population, especially the rural poor and the urban disadvantaged. It also has great potential to contribute to new knowledge and innovative practice through its research activities.
