Our lecturers are professional in their chosen fields with sound experience, knowledge and expertise, We have offered vocational training for hairdressers and beauty therapists for many years, and our students have gone on to achieve many successes, some now owning and running their own businesses. However everyone has to begin somewhere and our training salons are staffed by students undergoing training programmes. All work is closely supervised and monitored by a professionally qualified tutor. On occasions your appointment may take a little longer than the nontraining salon, but we are confident that you will be pleased with the end result. On occasions appointments may not be available at these times due to training days. Graduations Hairdressing and Beauty Registration Thank you for applying to register as a model at Graduations. Please read this leaflet carefully, and keep it in a safe place for your reference. In order to maintain and update our client database, please kindly complete the application form that our receptionist will hand you and return it to a member of the hairdressing or beauty staff. You will find our training salons offer extremely competitive prices whilst maintaining a professional standard of service. Health and Safety We cordially request that all clients observe the following for their own comfort and safety. Health and safety is everyone s responsibility. You are required by law (Health and Safety at Work Act 1974) To take reasonable care for your own health and safety and the health and safety of other people who may be affected by your conduct and to abide by the regulations laid down by the college in order to fulfil its duties under the Act. In the event of fire: Everyone must evacuate the building calmly and proceed to the nearest nominated assembly point where you must remain until a signal is given that it is safe to return to the building. In the event of an accident: Report the accident promptly to a member of staff
Beauty and Holistic Model Agreement When accepted as a client, we request the following conditions are followed: The lecturer in the class has the right to decline clients. Clients must have a skin test prior to eyelash/eyebrow and perming services. Clients must be prepared to have treatments at the discretion/advice of the lecturer or instructor. Clients will be expected to wear suitable clothing whilst undergoing body treatments in the salon environment. An initial consultation with a lecturer will be required, at which treatment procedures and suitable clothing will be clarified. Young children under 12 years of age must not be brought into Graduations unless advance notice has been made for them. Any client unable to keep an appointment must cancel in advance by telephoning reception on: 030 300 38600 For Beauty or 030 300 38500 For Hair All our models must be 16 years or over. Graduations Training Salon Procedures Client Information At Graduations we offer professional treatments. Please be aware as we are a training establishment we have to have certain regulations for our students. To enhance the effectiveness of the treatments and to ensure suitable clothing is worn, please take note of the advice below. Pedicure Please wear opened toed sandals to allow painted toe nails to dry effectively and prevent damage. Manicure Making payment before your nails are painted ensures you minimalise the risk the risk of damaging the varnish. Full leg and bikini waxing Please wear full briefs, thongs are not appropriate for the training environment. All body treatments Please wear loose comfortable clothing and shower before hand. A Shower is available for use if required (please arrive early so your appointment time is not affected) Men s treatments If your treatment requires you to undress please ensure you are wearing fitted boxer briefs that are thigh length.
Your copy of the model agreement form Hair & Beauty Model Application Form and Declaration Certificate I wish to become a model at Graduations, SDC, and hereby agree to conform to the college regulations. As a model I agree that, in consideration of my being so accepted and of consequently having my hair dressed at the special rates, neither the Governors of the college, nor any member of the college staff, nor the hairdressing students shall be under any liability to me or my dependants for any injury, damage or loss suffered by me as a result of my acting as a hairdressing model except in so far as the negligence of the college, it s servants or agents. In addition, I am aware of the section on Health and Safety policy and agree to abide by Sussex Downs College s regulations. You will be asked to sign a copy of this before your first service annually. DATA PROTECTION ACT The information you provide on this client agreement form will be used for administration and monitoring purposes only. Your consultation card will hold your personal details and will be held in a secure file. However your details may be disclosed on paperwork that goes to various examining boards as part of a student s case study material.
