1 Affiliate Software 1 Affiliate Utility Pages 1.1 Main Page Welcome to your User Guide! This comprehensive user guide will step you through all the dynamic features of the Affiliate Software. 1.2 Translation Translating is a simple process, all you have to do is translate one file for the entire software. 1.2.1 Troubleshooting 1. How do I reset the admin password in the affiliate management program solution? Follow these instructions to reset your administrative password: * Download the reset_password.php. This file is located in the affiliate folder. * Open that file in an editor and enter in your database. You will see variables, db, db_user, db_password and db_host. For example: $db='database_name'; $db_user='database_user'; $db_password='database_password'; $db_host='database_host'; * Save the file and upload the file back to your web server. Make sure the file is put back in the folder named affiliate. * Go to the web page in a browser. For example go to: http://www.yourdomain.com/affiliate/reset_password.php Once you pull up this page it will reset the password to admin/admin Then you should login with admin/admin and change the password. * Remove your database information from the reset_password.php page. 2. I am having trouble uploading large files, what can I do? Uploading Large Files: If you are looking to upload large files to the mailer to import contacts then you need to do the following: * You need to change the setting in PHP called: upload_max_filesize and post_max_size These values should be set to 16M You can do this through the php.ini file or you can add this line to your apache under the virtual host and re-start apache: php_admin_value upload_max_filesize 16M

Affiliate Utility Pages 2 php_admin_value post_max_size 16M * For MySql you have to have the variable: max_allowed_packet to be equal to 16 This can be accomplished by: modifying to /etc/my.cnf and setting the: set-variable = max_allowed_packet=16m under: [mysqld] Also keep in mind that my.cnf can reside in different dirs depending on the installation. Usually it is /etc/my.cnf, /var/lib/mysql/my.cnf, /usr/local/var/my.cnf. 3. Apache Upload Troubleshooting If you are still having trouble once you set the parameters above, then you should check the following apache limits LimitRequestBody LimitRequests LimitRequestSize LimitRequestLine You should check especially the first one in the httpd.conf. It is possible the POST data is larger than the value in the LimitRequestBody 2 Getting Started 2.1 Getting Started - Step 1 Once you have setup the Affiliate software, there a few steps necessary to get the software working with your site. Create an Affiliate Program First, you want to setup an affiliate program. The affiliate program will be for one of your products, or if you are offering a flat rate of commission on a range of products, it will be your online store. To create a new affiliate program, go to Manage Affiliate Program and select Add Affiliate Program. The next thing to do is the enter the following fields:

3 Affiliate Software Name: This is the name of your affiliate program. This will be the named referenced in the software. Also, this name will be displayed to users. Redirection URL: This is the URL that is where users will go when they click on the affiliate user's link. When they click on the affiliate user's link, they will be forwarded to the page you enter for this link. Commission Type: You can choose whether you want commission to be calculated when a sale is made, when a link is clicked or if a banner is shown. You can choose one of these options. : This description will be shown to your affiliate user's when they sign up for the affiliate program. After you fill out these fields click on the Next Page. If you select the commission type of sale then you will see the following fields: All sales from this affiliate must be approved before being added to the system: Affiliate users will earn the following amount per sale: Multi-Tier Commission: Re-Occurring Commission: If this check box is checked, then if the commission type is set to sales, then all sales must be approved before they are added to the system. If sales need to be approved, when they appear in the Manage Sales Report section they will have an "approve" link next to each sale. This is the amount that each affiliate will earn when they send you sales. The options below are only used if you want to have multi-tier commission, so that your affiliates can earn money if they sign up addition affiliates. You may leave this section blank if you do not want to offer multi-tier commissions. For example if you set the 2nd Tier to $5.00 per sale. This means if you have an affiliate who signs up another affiliate and the affiliate he signs up makes a sale then the original affiliate will earn $5.00 A reoccurring commission is if you want your affiliates to earn a commission on a reoccurring basis as long as the affiliate they signed up remains an affiliate. To setup a reoccurring commission you must setup a cron job which is located on this page. If you choose Commission Type "Earn based upon clicks" Cost per click: The amount you enter in this field represents the amount that your affiliates will earn per click. Multi-Tier System: Use this field if you want to setup a multi-tier field. Therefore for example if you setup 2 tier to be $2.00 then if you have an affiliate that signs up an affiliate. If the second affiliate gets clicks then the original affiliate will earn $2.00. If you choose Commission Type "Commission Based on CPM" Earn Commission The amount you enter in this field represents the amount that your affiliate will based on CPM: earn based upon the impressions they send. The amount is based upon 1000 impression. Therefore if you enter $1.00 in this field then after 1000 impressions from the affiliate the affiliate will earn $1.00 Multi-Tier System: Use this field if you want to setup a multi-tier field. Therefore for example if you setup 2 tier to be $2.00 then if you have an affiliate that signs up an affiliate. If the second affiliate gets 1000 impressions then the original affiliate will earn $2.00.

Getting Started 4 Add special code to your shopping-cart thank You page This is for users who are going to use our affiliate program to track sales, if you are simply paying per click or based on the number of impressions that are shown, you can skip this step. If you are going to pay your affiliate users for each sale they send you, then you need to add our code to the thank you page for your shopping-cart. This code can be found on the Getting Started page in your affiliate software. You should login to your affiliate software, and click on the Getting Started Wizard. This is an example of the code: <img src=http://www.yourdomain.com/affiliate/sale.php?amount=10&transaction=b style='visibility: hidden'> NOTE: Where it shows YourDomain.com in the link above, replace this link with your actual domain name. This code should come from the Getting Started Wizard in your affiliate software. This code contains the line amount=10, this is the default value of sales. If you want to set a specific price, edit the number. You can also have your shopping cart software pass the value for the amount. If you would like to pass the amount value, then consult your shopping cart software or how to pass the amount. You can also pass values for the transaction id by passing values to the transaction field. Add Product descriptions to your Affiliate Page Next you should customize the affiliate user page. The affiliate user page is located on the user frontend area and you get to it by clicking on affiliate program. To add product descriptions on this affiliate user page, click on Customize User Interface from the administrative page and select the page prodgroups.php. You can customize the title and images for the page, then create your own content. Our WYSIWYG editor allows you create an attractive page without having to know HTML. 2.2 Getting Started - Step 2 Customize Your Affiliate Home Page The user front-end of your affiliate program can be customized easily. Therefore, most of the time this is the link to your main page of your site or the page that describes your products or services. This field is used to prevent a duplicate sale. The amount of time you enter in this field is the number of minutes that the system will wait before it counts an additional sale from the same IP. You can leave this field blank if you do not want to use. The purpose of this field is to make sure if someone hits refresh on the thank you page then your sale is not counted twice. This field is only used if the Commission Type is set to Sale. If you are awarding your affiliate users based upon their clicks or impressions, then you can leave this field blank.

Therefore, if you set this field to the amount of $1 then after 1000 impressions the affiliate user will earn a commission of $1. If you use this method, then you should add a banner for your affiliate program.
