Product overview - Satski Satski is a ski and snowboard GPS application that provides real-time location information using a ski map. It also gives your statistics including speed (current, maximum and average), distance (total and skied) and altitude (current, gained and descended). As well as all that, there is navigation, a replay facility and resort and emergency information. Installation - Satski 1. Before you can use your activation code, install the free version of Satski by starting Internet Explorer on your phone and visit www.satski.com which will take you to the mobile friendly website. 2. Select Download Free Satski. This will download the free Satski application. 3. Find the Programs folder on your phone, select the Satski icon and wait for the application to load 4. Select a map and wait for it to load. 5. Choose one of the three options that suits you: a) Download FREE map (map and resort info only, no GPS features), b) I have an activation code, c) I would like an activation code 6. After selecting b) I have an activation code, insert your code, which will activate all the GPS features. Starting Satski: 1. Make sure that your phone is fully charged. For maximum battery life ensure that Wifi, Bluetooth and email is switched off and your screen is set to turn off after a short period of inactivity. 2. Click on Start, Programs, and select the Satski icon to start the Satski application. You will be greets with the start-up screen displaying which resort is currently selected. Get Resort allows you to download and install a new resort. Note that dong so will uninstall the old resort. Start Satski launches the ski map and stats section. 3. For best results, allow the phone to stand in a clear area for a couple of minutes before skiing. This allows it to pick up a clear GPS signal. Image: Start Screen (may differ slightly) Installing a resort Press Get Resort and you will see a list of available resorts. You can then select a resort to install it. Resorts are installed through your phone s data connection so for best results you should use a wifi or 3G connection. 2

On the mountain 1. Satski is a touch screen system with your position on the trail map, your day s stats at the bottom and some menu options. 2. Ensure that Satski is running during the entire day s skiing it won t record if it isn t switched on! 3. You can stop (Menu, Exit) the software for short periods as long as you remember to restart it. It will remember your day s ski data. 4. Please note that GPS works best in an open space with clear view of the sky, so if you are located in a deep valley, a restaurant or lift, this can affect your signal. Map view - Satski Once a resort has been installed you can press the Start Satski button. This will load the resort files and bring up the main ski map/stats screen. The ski map shows your current position as well as clickable points of information (usually mountain restaurants). The stats area below shows your current details (speed, distance, altitude) as well as daily statistics including distance skied, average and top speed. The Locate Me button will always show your position and the zoom buttons can be used to scale the ski map. The map can be panned by dragging the map on the touch-screen or by using the directional buttons. Resort information - Satski Press Menu, Resort information to see the categories available They are Restaurants (mountain and village), Bars, Ski Hire, Ski Schools, Local Businesses and general Resort Information. You can also press the green circles on the ski map to see information about a particular location, e.g. A Mountain Restaurant or Snowpark may have been given a POI button and if you select it, a photo and basic information and/or contact details will be provided. Navigation - Satski To navigate from any location (including your current position) to another, press Navigate. It is then a question of selecting the start point and the end 3

point and which difficult/expert runs you d like to avoid and the application will calculate and display the best route. Replay - Satski Press Replay to see a replay of your day s skiing useful for groups of skiers who may not be sure which parts of the ski map has been visited. SOS - Satski Press Menu, Emergency (SOS) to see the emergency instructions. The phone number of emergency services and your co-ordinates are both displayed. Using these co-ordinates the rescue teams should be able to locate you. 4

Product overview Pocket Caddy Pocket Caddy is a golf GPS system that runs on your Windows Mobile phone. As well as giving live distances to the front, middle and back of the green, Pocket Caddy has some unique features including a 3D hole flyover, the ability to map your own courses for free and a post golf round view in Google Earth. Installation Pocket Caddy 1. Open the Internet Explorer browser on your phone and go to www.pocketcaddy.net/m and wait for the mobile friendly website to load. 2. Select Download Free Pocket Caddy. This will download the free Pocket Caddy application. 3. Find the Programs folder on your phone, select the Pocket Caddy icon and wait for the application to load. The free version provides you with Augusta, USA to demo the first 3 holes. 4. Insert your activation code. This will still allow you to use the sample course, Augusta National, until you download your own courses. 5. To download other golf courses, register online for your free Pocket Caddy membership to use the DIY Course Mapping facility. Or email courses@satsportsgps.com with details of the course(s) you would like mapped, ( 10 charge per course) and your Pocket Caddy membership will be topped up with credits so you can download each course once it is ready (please allow 7 10 days). Starting Pocket Caddy Start the application and you will be greeted with the start-up screen displaying a list of courses that you have installed on your phone. You can either select the course that you wish to play or else you can download a new course by selecting the Download Course link at the top-right. Image: Start Screen (may differ slightly) 5

Changing course Before you can download a new course you need to register for your free Pocket Caddy membership here: www.satsportsgps.com/pocketcaddy/courses. Once you have a login you can map your own courses using Pocket Caddy s DIY Course Mapping facility. You must download Google Earth onto your PC before using the Pocket Caddy DIY Course Mapping. For every course you plot, you will earn 4 credits to buy other courses (1 credit = 1 course). To change course on your phone: 1. Click on the Download Course link on the mobile app start screen 2. If prompted, enter your Pocket Caddy username and password. 3. You will see a list of all your available courses that you have mapped or purchased with Pocket Caddy credits. 4. Select the course and it will download into the list of installed courses. 5. You can then select the course to play from your list of installed courses. Playing Golf Once you have the correct course selected press the OK button to start the main part of the app. The course data will then load and you will be presented with a flyover of the first hole. The GPS will automatically start and the distances to the Back, Middle and Front of the green are shown in the top-right. These distances (and distances to hazards) are also shown on the flyover screen itself. buttons. You can navigate to the correct hole by using the left and right buttons in the top-left section. The 2D and 3D buttons in the bottom-right will restart the flyover. The padlock button at the bottom-left will lock your phone so that you can place it in your pocket without accidentally pressing any The M button in the top-left area brings up the menu and the button to the right of the Menu button displays the scorecard. Once you start playing you simply press the Mark shot button for each shot you play except for putts. 6

Marking a shot Before (or immediately after) you play a shot you should Mark it. This will allow the system to record which club you play and how far you hit. When you hit the Mark button you will be presented with a list of your clubs. Simply select the club that you are about to play (or have just played) and it will be recorded. Once you hit the green there is no need to record any more shots, so as soon as you select putt as your club you will not be asked to record any more shots for that hole. Once you start to putt the Mark Shot button is replaced by a Finish hole button. Press this when you have finished a hole and you can enter your score for that hole. The system will then automatically move on to the next hole. 7

Product overview Satsports-Log Satsports-Log is an application designed to enhance your sporting activities by giving you live stats during your running, cycling, other activity, including current speed, distance and altitude as well as average and maximum speeds, total time and altitude gained/descended. It also records your tracks and can then link up with the free Satsports PC-based Analytics software Stats Viewer, which will keep a log of your activities and analyse them with graphs, maps and tables. Installation Satsports-Log 1. Install the free version of Satsports-Log by starting Internet Explorer on your phone and visit www.sports-log.com which will take you to the mobile friendly website. 2. Please select Download Free version. This will download the free demo version (The demo version will not save your data for later analysis). 3. Find the Programs folder on your phone, select the Satsports-Log icon and wait for the application to load. 4. Select the option I have an activation code and insert your code to activate the full Satsports-Log application. The Application Satsports-Log Start the application and it will automatically connect to the phone s GPS, picking up your speed, position and altitude. The top half of the screen will then display current and activity stats. The bottom half of the screen has 6 buttons which can be used to scroll between more advanced features (from left to right): 1. Recording: use this page to start/stop your activity recording. 2. Elevation graph: shows a graph of your altitude against distance travelled. 3. Map: Shows a simple map of your location and tracks. 4. Split times: Shows the current and previous times for kilometres or miles. 5. Information: Shows the current latitude/longitude and distance from start point. 6. Camera (Geo-tag): Allows you to take a photo and have it appear in the correct place in the Google Earth output 8

Analytics All Satsports Apps Post activity Analytics with Stats Viewer After your day s skiing, a round of golf or maybe a bike ride, what ever your Satsports activity, you can transfer the data files onto your PC to view in 2D with Ski Viewer (for Satski) and in 3D with Google Earth (for Satski, Pocket Caddy and Satsports-Log) by following these steps: 1. Synchronize your Windows phone with your Windows PC by downloading ActiveSync. 2. Make sure you have Satsports free PC-based software Stats Viewer installed. You can download and install this from the Satsports website. 3. Connect your phone by USB to your PC. In Stats Viewer click on the Skiing, Golf or Running/Cycling tab and then click on Run Ski/Golf/Satsports-Log Viewer. This will start the appropriate sports viewer. 4. Import your data files by selecting the button marked Import data from Phone. 5. Once you have imported your data files you can then review them in the ski map replay with Ski Viewer (Satski only) and in 3D with Google Earth (Satski, Pocket Caddy and Satsports-Log). If you have trouble importing your files through the PC software: If you have installed Satski on your phone in the non-default folder (\Program Files\Satski) then the PC Analytics software will not be able to immediately find the ski data files. On your first import you will be prompted to name the folder that you used for the installation on your phone (most likely the Storage Card folder) if you enter the installation folder name and then from that point and for all future data downloads the PC software will know where to look. 9
