District 131 Email System District 131 utilizes Exchange/Outlook email system. The email system is accessible via Outlook Web Application: https://email.d131.org/owa. District employees will use the Outlook Web Application to access their email and calendar resources. The Outlook Client and mobile application is available for administrators only. Logging into the Email System To log into the email system at District 131, access https://email.d131.org/owa, and follow the steps below to successfully access district 131 email systems. Enter username, which is user s first initial and last name. Enter password, which are the last 4 digits of user s social security number and user s last name. Click sign in to access user s Outlook inbox. Outlook Inbox Below is a preview of the Exchange (Outlook) inbox. Click to compose a new email. The inbox pane will show a list of all emails that have been received. The reading pane will show a preview of what is written in the selected email. Creating and Sending a New Email Step 1: Click on new mail to compose an email Step 2: Enter the email address of the person the email is going to. Once entered, the email address will appear as the person s first and last name. Step 3: Enter a subject heading. Step 4: Type the message in the body. Step 5: When the email is finished, hit send. STEP 5 STEP 1 STEP 2 STEP 3 STEP 4 Formatting Fonts The text can be modified and formatted using the toolbar seen above. Text size, color, font style, can all be customized. Attaching a File or Picture in an Email Step 1: Click on INSERT. Step 2: Choose attachment or picture to insert the necessary file. Step 3: Navigate to the folder that contains the necessary file. Step 5: The file will then be inserted in the email. Continue typing the message or hit send to send the message. Creating a Signature Step 1: Log into https://email.d131.org. Step 2: In the top right-hand corner of your screen, you will see your name displayed. On the right side of your name, you will see a gear symbol. Click on the gear symbol. Step 3: Click on Options. Step 4: On the left, you will have several different options to view. Click the Settings option. Step 5: When you click on the settings option you will see a section titled email signature. Below is a text field. You may enter text that will appear in the signature of your message when you send an email. This information can include your name, title, location, email or phone number. Step 6: When you are finished typing in the information you want to appear in an email, you can check or uncheck a box marked Automatically including my signature on messages I send. When checked, this signature will always be included at the end of your message. Step 7: You can modify the text of your signature to include different fonts, sizes, and colors. Step 8: After you have created and edited your signature, click Save to ensure that you save your changes.
