Programs: Visiting Teachers from Spain in Texas Candidates: Highly qualified teachers from Spain Application deadline for Texas school districts: December 15, 2012 Selection procedure: Prescreening by the Ministry of Education of Spain Texas school district representatives make the final decision Region XIII/TEA role: Evaluate the selected teachers English language competence Visa sponsorship Provide support with the certification process
Programs: Summer Courses in Spain for educators Open to: - Teachers at the K-12 and community college levels in the U.S.A.: Teachers of Spanish Teachers in bilingual programs Teachers in immersion programs Teachers, education professionals and school administrators Students considering a career in education Courses offered: Spanish Language and Culture, Spanish Language and Literature, Spanish as a Foreign Language, Master in Spanish Language and Culture Costs: Courses are partially sponsored by Ministry of Education of Spain and by the universities. School districts may also offer partial scholarships Credits: Graduate credits are awarded by various American Universities

Programs: International Spanish Academies Resources and Programs: Participation in a network of ISAs ISA study diplomas and special awards for students Organization of seminars for ISAs Pedagogical consultation and support (Embassy of Spain Education Advisors) -Participation in different programs: Specialized Visiting Teachers Educational exchanges in Spain Language and Culture Assistants Currently: -There are eight International Spanish Academies (ISAs) in Houston ISD.
Programs: Language and Cultural Ambassadors in Spain - A program sponsored by the Ministry of Education, the Departments of Education of different regions of Spain and the Office of Education of the Embassy of Spain in Washington D.C. - The Language Assistants work in elementary and secondary schools in Spain - Applicants must hold a valid U.S. passport, have knowledge of Spanish and be enrolled in the last year of their BA, BS, MA or MSc, or have completed any of those university degrees - There are currently 2,750 assistants serving in Spain. Approximately 20% apply to stay on for a second year, 4.500 applied for the program. - More than 100 Texans participate in the program every year.
Programs: AP Spanish - Spanish Language courses for High School students at CEELE Accredited Schools in Spain - Preparation for the AP Spanish Language exam - To participate in the program, students must be between the ages of 15 and 19, complete an enrolment form and submit payment for the course Programs: Ruta Quetzal -The Quetzal route is both a study program and an adventure trip for 16-17 year old students - During the course of the trip, participants complete a program of academic activities designed by the Complutense University -In 2013 the theme of the expedition is Panama: de la Selva del Darién a la Europa de Carlos V. La gran aventura del descubrimiento del Mar del Sur. Selva del Darién a la Europa de Carlos V. La Gran Aventura del Descubrimiento del Mar del Sur".
