Mains switch configuration Power Fail Signal Both mains switches are wired in series (either switch can isolate the psu output) The green illuminated switch can be used by a service engineer to switch of the machine from inside the cabinet. The outer switch is intended for by the service operator. An AC Counter signal is provided. square wave 50/60 Hz (mains frequency dependant) pulse used to show input AC mains voltage failure. The output is pulled high via a 10K resistor to +12V. The signal can be monitored by the system software to give warning of AC mains off. Application Guide The psu should be mounted internally in a secure are of the machine (only accessible via service engineers). Input mains connection should be made via a 10A IEC C14 lead. External fusing is required to protect the input mains lead (integral in the lead plug or distribution system). The psu earth stud (class 1 product) should be considered as the main earthling point for the end machine, correct wire size / fixing method to meet the machine end safety approval should be considered. Care should be taken to consider the maximum current of each output including overload (OCP level) when selecting the loom wire size for each connector. Do not connect separately protected 12V outputs together as this will effect the OCP operation and could limit the total output current (for instance CN808 has a lower OCP limit of 6A). In the case of the 0V returns, if possible route the return wires back to the appropriate output connector for the load positive output. Clearance should be maintained around the top and edges of the product for ventilation (see mechanical drawing below).
