page 4 of 6 INSTALLATION instructions POSH SOLUS VERSA-TILE Please read instructions carefully before installing; failure to follow instructions voids warranty. It is the responsibility of the installer of the shower tray to adhere to local building codes in relation to waterproofing and installation. Importantly, it is the responsibility of the installer to ensure that a water tight seal exists between the tile tray and puddle flange. VIDEO GUIDE 1 Important preparation Ensure surface is level. Check condition of substrate. Re-shape flashing with manipulation if required. Remove excess dust prior to installation. Methylated Spirits will assist with good adhesion. Mark and cut out position of base. Mark out position of outlet. For installation on timber/steel substrate Versa-Tile Tray Expansion joint, requires caulking. Tile underlay, cement sheeting. Cut-out floor to fit between joists Ensure underside of base is supported by a flat/level surface. Reinforce/strengthen substrate as required. Use cement sheeting as tile underlay. Place tray directly onto reinforced joists. Insert noggins between joists. Insert battens to support noggins. Recess to ensure level entry Versa-Tile Tray depth = mm Underside A minimum of 300mm centres is required to support the Versa-Tile Tray. Add trimmers where required. Note: No requirement to 'check-in' to wall stud, due to manufactured-in flashing. We suggest using - Mapei Mapeflex PU 45 for adhering tray to substrate. Waste outlet void - 00x00mm (300x300mm MAX) For installation on concrete substrate When pouring slab, box out area required to fit appropriate size Versa-Tile Tray - depth required = mm Ensure level surface prior to installing tray. We suggest using - Mapei Mapeflex PU 45 for adhering tray to substrate. 3 Waste connection - to be completed only by licensed plumber 71mm 00mm 60mm 0mm x 50mm puddle flange socket Designed to fit over 50mm pipe and takes 0mm When laying vinyl, purchase alternate puddle flange from Reece (eg. part numbers 0943 & 0301). page 5 of 6 4 Trimming One side of the Tile Tray is already 'entry level'. Use appropriate tool (eg. Stanley knife) to trim additional side/s as required. Trimming will not affect performance/durability etc. mm mm 5 'Laying' base Lightly sand underside of base, ensure floor surface and tray are clean, dry and free of dust. We suggest using - Mapei Mapeflex PU 45 for adhering tray to substrate. Tile Tray Adhesive layer Recess tray, placing it on a flat level surface. Ensure tray is fully supported as per diagram. Place base directly over adhesive and lower into position. Place 4 x 0kg bags of cement on base to ensure adhesion and leave until cured, typically overnight. 6 Flashing Please note: Care must be taken when handling flashing to avoid twisting/bending and ensure correct fit. Flashing is pre-fitted in factory, however if not handled with care it may require gentle manipulation to achieve a proper fit. Silicone, then place flashing. Use galvanised clout nails to attach flashing, one per stud - ensure flashing is attached to each stud. Silicon nail heads. 7 Wallboard/Floorboard/Caulking Install waterproof board directly over flashing. Caulk ALL openings/joins. Use waterproof tape over the caulked edges of the shower tray and the tile underlay. Do not apply waterproof membrane over tray. Waterproof up to the caulked edges of the tray. This product is covered by a 7 year replacement product warranty and a 1 month warranty over spare parts and labour. 7 YEAR WARRANTY DOMESTIC USE This warranty covers faults in the product construction, material and assembly. Products which are within 7 years from the date of purchase, found upon inspection by an authorised Reece representative, to be defective in construction, material or assembly, will be repaired or exchanged with an equivalent product free of charge. Replaced items become Reece s property. All replacement products will be available for collection without charge to the customer at the nearest Reece branch to the customer s location, or elsewhere as agreed between the customer and Reece. Labour and Spare Parts The labour for the replacement of products and spare parts to which this warranty applies will be supplied by Reece or relevant supplier using licensed plumbers engaged by Reece or relevant supplier within 1 year from the date of purchase. Labour will not be covered for removable items such as door drip seal. This item is removable for cleaning purposes. Spare parts which are within 1 year from the date of purchase found upon inspection by an authorised Reece representative to be defective in construction, material or assembly, will be replaced free of charge. Warranty Conditions This warranty will apply only under all of the following conditions: The item has been installed by a licensed plumber The item has been installed for and subjected to domestic residential use only Failure is due to a fault in the manufacture of the product Proof of purchase (including the date of purchase) is provided The installation of the product is in accordance with the instructions provided This warranty does not cover products purchased as an ex-display without being fully checked and tested for sale by the manufacturer. This warranty does not include faults caused by: Unsuitable or improper use Incorrect installation or installation not in accordance with the instructions provided Installation or part installation by the purchaser or any person other than a LICENSED PLUMBER Normal wear and tear Inadequate or complete lack of maintenance Chemical, electrochemical or electrical influences Harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners used on product finishes 1 YEAR WARRANTY COMMERCIAL USE Commercial use is all use other than for normal domestic residential purposes, including use in non-business places as in public buildings, schools, sports centres and in establishments that contain private bathrooms with high frequency of use by many individuals, such as hotels, motels, retirement villages and hospitals.
