Who is a prospect for Sea Legs? Lets start with who can not use Sea Legs? Less than 10% of pontoon buyers have one of these issues: I/O pontoon buyer Anywhere the solid bottom of the lake is more than five feet down. Anyone with a tritoon where the tubes are closer than 10 inches to each other; Anyone whose combined weight is more than 5800#s Any pontoon under 18 feet long Any pontoon over 30 feet long People who have very large rocky lake bottom Who can use Sea Legs? Everyone else, which is about 90% of all pontoon buyers!
Why choose SeaLegs over a Lift system? SeaLegs are much easier to raise and lower than a lift. Instead of turning a wheel for three minutes you just push a button. You don t have to put your lift in the water in the spring and take it out in the fall. SeaLegs go with your boat. You have your lift wherever you go. Raise your SeaLegs and go, lower your Sealegs and Park, at your dock, sandbars, restaurants, visiting neighbors, getting gas, shore fishing and more. With SeaLegs you don t have to worry about damaging your boat when driving on to a lift. If you have fluctuating water levels, there is no lift to move or to adjust. Just push a button and raise or lower your pontoon to the desired height. SeaLegs are more secure in a storm than a lift is. Your boat stays put! You can keep your boat closer to shore with SeaLegs than with a lift. As long as your boat floats SeaLegs will work. SeaLegs are much easier for your family to use than a lift is. There are no cables or pulleys to replace on SeaLegs. SeaLegs can be financed with your boat and you only have one payment. They become additional equipment when installed on your boat. SeaLegs retain their value much better than a used lift does.
The Pontoon Lift That Goes Where You Go! What are SeaLegs? Frequently Asked Questions SeaLegs are the world s only portable hydraulic pontoon lift. The product consists of two hydraulically operated lift modules (or Legs) that are attached to the bottom of the pontoon deck. The Legs lift and hold the boat at any height, up to six feet, from the lake or river bottom. When fully retracted under the deck, your pontoon is fully functional until you get to your next destination. To secure your boat, simply extend the SeaLegs. How long has SeaLegs been around? SeaLegs were first installed commercially in 1994 and are protected by a U.S. patent issued in 1996. There are currently more than 5000 sets of SeaLegs in operation in the U.S. and Canada. What type of boats can SeaLegs be installed on? SeaLegs will fit on most 18 to 28 foot standard, new or preowned, pontoon boats. They are designed to optimally function on pontoons that have an 8.5 wide deck and 25 pontoons; however, 8 wide decks and smaller diameter pontoons can be accommodated. *Standard SeaLegs need 48 inches between the tubes. **TriToon SeaLegs need at least 13 inches between the tubes and lifting strakes. Where can I use SeaLegs? One of the best benefits of SeaLegs is the wide variety of applications that they can be used in. Raise your SeaLegs and go, lower your SeaLegs and park at your dock, sandbars, restaurants, visiting neighbors, shore fishing, getting gas and more. Will SeaLegs work on all lake bottoms? Yes. SeaLegs are being used on all types of lake and river bottom surfaces. Whether you have sand, rocks or muck, each independent leg has approximately 3000 lbs of extension and retraction power. Getting stuck is not an issue. Your local Authorized SeaLegs dealer may have further information for you including recommendations and referrals from other SeaLegs owners in your area. What is the lift height? SeaLegs will lift the deck of your pontoon six (6) feet, measured from the bottom of the pontoon deck to the lake or river bottom. In order to take the buoyancy off of the pontoons you need to be in approximately four (5) feet water. To have your pontoons fully out of the water, a depth of 4 feet or less is required.
How do I keep my boat level? The front and back SeaLegs can be operated independently or simultaneously via the remote control or manual toggle switches. To compensate for different sloped lake bottoms, adjust the front or back height as needed. Will SeaLegs affect my boat s performance? When fully retracted, SeaLegs tuck to within 5 inches of the deck bottom, meaning they do not drag in the water as you drive. SeaLegs total weight is about 300 pounds, evenly distributed throughout the length of the boat. How are SeaLegs powered? Do I need an extra battery? SeaLegs runs off standard marinegrade boat batteries. There is no need for additional power other than the battery you use to start your boat normally. We highly recommend a battery with at least 750 cold cranking amps. Note: SeaLegs are fun to showoff to neighbors and friends, so keep a mental note of the amount of use and how much you run your engine to naturally recharge your battery, as you would if you had your radio on for an extended period of time. Do I need to do anything to winterize SeaLegs? No. We advise that you retract your SeaLegs fully, winterize your motor and store it as you normally would on blocks or on a trailer. There is no need to do anything extra to winterize Sea Legs. Where can I get SeaLegs or see them in action? SeaLegs are sold through Authorized SeaLegs dealers. Can I install SeaLegs myself? No. In order for your SeaLegs warranty to be in effect, SeaLegs must be installed by an Authorized SeaLegs dealer. What is the SeaLegs warranty? When installed by an Authorized Dealer, SeaLegs carry a twoyear limited warranty. The first year covers parts and labor, the second year parts only.
