101 Ways to Reach Your Community 1. Free Lunch at the Park Grill some hot dogs, and invite all the neighbors around. 2. Trick or Treat Outreach Have apple cider, hot cocoa, coffee, and snacks for families who are trick-or-treating 3. Neighborhood Barbecue Invite neighborhood to a barbecue in your front yard. Add neighbors who attend on facebook. 4. Candy Bars to Local Businesses Buy a bunch of candy bars, attach some connection cards, and pass them out to employees at local businesses. 5. Black Friday Outreach Do a Black Friday outreach. Talk to a local mall, Walmart, or shopping center about setting up a free coffee and hot cocoa center to pass out to shoppers who are up super early in the morning. 6. Door to Door Go door to door to talk to neighbors and invite them to church. (It s old school, but there s no better way to meet a bunch of people at once!) 7. Exam Study Packs Take exam study packs to students of your local university. Put in energy drinks, candy bars, chips, and popcorn. 8. College Free Lunch Put a free lunch on for students of a local university. Have conversations and invite to church. 1

9. Water Bottle Pass Out Grab a bunch of water bottles, put custom labels with the church s logo, and pass them out at a park or event. 10. Freeze Pops Pass Out In the summer, fill a cooler with freeze pops, and pass them around at an event. 11. Teacher s Breakfast Provide breakfast or lunch for teachers of a local school. 12. Dog Owners Connection Take your dog out to the dog park the same time each week and build relationships with other dog owners. 13. Local Ultimate Frisbee Games Look for a pick-up ultimate frisbee game to get involved in regularly. 14. Snacks for the Teacher s Lounge Provide snacks for the teacher s lounge at a local school. 15. Movie Gift Cards to Employees of Businesses Buy $10 movie cards and give them out to employees at your most frequented coffee shops. It will go a long way into developing relationships and conversations. 16. Bags of Cookies to Emergency Personnel Take bags of cookies to the local fire and police departments thanking them for service to your community. 17. Park Clean Up Go to your local park and clean it up once or twice a month. 18. Free Lawn Care Take a weedeater and lawnmower around the neighborhood and volunteer to cut lawns in the spring. 19. Service Scavenger Hunt Take the youth out to do a service project scavenger hunt around the community finding people to give pies, wash their cars, cut their grass, and do odds and ends around the community. 2

20. Winter Clothing Pack to Community Put together a winter clothing pack to hand out to the homeless in your community when it gets cold. 21. Movie Night at the Park Do a movie night and show a free movie at a park in your neighborhood. 22. Bathroom Clean Up Take a team of people to show up around closing time at fast food restaurants and coffee shops with cleaning supplies and offer to clean bathrooms. 23. Connect at Community Events Look at your local city community calendar and look for ways to volunteer for community events. 24. Local Blogger Advertising Search for local bloggers in your community and ask about advertising on their websites. 53. Homeless Shelter Volunteering Volunteer for a local homeless shelter. 54. Targeted Facebook Campaign Focus on a targeted facebook campaign for an upcoming series or service. Encourage members to share post with their friends. 66. Local Emergency Preparedness Connection Get connected with local emergency preparedness groups in your city. Ask about ways that you can help them with their needs. 67. Concessions Volunteering Volunteer to help with concessions at the local middle or high school. Consistently serve once a week. 68. Donating Supplies to Schools Donate resources (crayons, tape, scissors, glue, etc) to your local elementary school. Many of these schools run out of these types of supplies, and the teachers pay out of their own pockets to purchase them. 69. Debate at Local University Put on a debate at your local university with one of the philosophy professors. Bring in an intellectual PhD who can have a good conversation with the philosophy professor that will also be respected. Make sure to pay honorarium to professors speaking. 70. Flowers For Valentines Day During Valentines Day, hand out carnations or roses to ladies entering and/or leaving the grocery store or Walmart. 71. Free Light Bulbs Buy a ton of light bulbs and go from house to house offering to give free light bulbs with a card connecting them to your church. 72. Emergency Personnel Appreciation Dinner Put on an emergency personnel appreciation dinner one Saturday. Invite local police, fire, and EMS. 73. Free Photo Booth Have a photo booth for a special event at your church. Give out free photos to those who attend. 74. Laundry Day For Local University Go into the local laundromat near the university or college and pay for students to have free laundry. Spend time hanging out getting to know students. Cookies Pass Out Go to the workplace of one of your launch team members and bring cookies to all the employees. 83. Meals For New Moms Make meals for moms in your neighborhood who have just had babies. 84. After School Tutoring Have your launch team volunteer for local after-school tutoring programs. 85. Youtube Testimony Campaign Do a youtube testimony campaign where you put testimonies of your launch team on youtube. Then, post those to your website, place a QR code on a business card that you hand out to those that you share the Gospel with. 86. Helping Seniors from Senior Center Talk to senior center about shut-ins and senior citizens who need help on home improvement and lawn projects. 8

87. Help in Your Kid s Classes Volunteer to help in your kids classes. Use the opportunities to build relationships with the teachers, administration, and fellow parents. 88. Free Drama or Performance Put on a free drama, performance, or concert in a local amphitheater. 89. Partner With Businesses for Free Food and Snacks If near a university, find the local hangout spot and find ways to partner with businesses to give free food or snacks. 90. One-on-One Evangelism Go to a public place and start talking to people about the Gospel. Have on hand free resources that people can read or watch later at their discretion. 91. FAQ for Resource Page on Website Have a resource page on your website that has frequently asked questions about Christianity from your community answered in videos. 92. Welcome Packs for College Students Bring welcome packs to new students moving in at your local college. Have hygiene items, snacks, and $10 gift card to Walmart. 93. Exam Materials For College Students During exam time, have blue books, scantrons, and number two pencils available to give out to students at your local college. 94. Local Influencers Prayer List Pray for local city officials, school principals, and business owners. Then, send them cards with your church plant stationary and business card saying that you prayed for them. 95. Car Window Decals Make graphic decals with your church s logo. Give them out to your launch team and put them on the back of your car windows. 9

96. Block Party Trailer Purchase a block party trailer with bounce houses, cotton candy machine, popcorn machine, and snow cone machines. Use it to give out free block parties for your community. 97. Set Up and Email List Set up an email list with mailchimp or aweber. Collect emails from your website, facebook page, or special events. Then, use that list to promote upcoming events and ways for new people to get connected. 98. Baby Blankets For New Moms Have baby blankets made and donate them at the hospital for new babies. 99. Free Turkeys at Thanksgiving During Thanksgiving, bring your launch team around to families who are in need and hand out free turkeys. 100.
