Madrid-Barajas Airport quality and environment certifications are: ISO 14001, ISO 14064 and ISO 50001. Best airport in Southern Europe at the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2015. EFQM+500 Excellence Award 2015. Best International Airport at the CAPA Awards for the over 25 million passenger category in 2015. Tourism Industry Tribute Award by Madrid City Council in 2015. On 17 th July 2015 MAD became a fully implemented A-CDM airport following their connection to the Eurocontrol Network Manager Operations Centre and the exchange of live data via DPI messaging, becoming the 12 th A- CDM Airport in Europe and the 1 st A-CDM Airport in Spain. Recognized with the Award for Excellence in Safety in the Community of Madrid (Transport Section) which is awarded each year by the radio program Protegidos on the radio station Cope Madrid Sur. Highly Commended Airport in the over 25 million passenger category at the 11 th ACI Europe Best Airport Awards. International Airport of the Year award in the 'Large Airport' category (for airports with over 25 million passengers) by the aeronautical consultancy firm CAPA-Centre for Aviation. Additionally, in 2011 AS Madrid-Barajas Airport was certified by the Spanish Aviation Safety Agency (AESA), meeting the international standards recommended by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The certification, valid until December 31st, 2016 entails both safety improvements and meeting international technical standards. Yearly quality surveys for airlines and passengers are carried out in order to monitor their perception of the airport services.
