1. Introduction The Merchant e-solutions (MeS) Virtual Terminal multiple-merchant functionality gives users the ability to manage multiple Virtual Terminal accounts using a single master account login. With a master account login, users can enter transactions, settle batches, and run reports for multiple accounts without the need to log into to each account separately. In fact, master account administrator users have full access to all functionality of the individual Virtual Terminal accounts linked to the master account, and the ability to create additional master account users as needed. This guide is intended to assist master account users with the everyday use of Virtual Terminal multi-merchant functionality. The details in this guide are specific to the multi-merchant master account level interface. Users looking for details on the merchant account level interface should use the help (?) icons available throughout the Virtual Terminal website, or view one of other guides available on the Virtual Terminal help page. 2. Log On A master account administrator user name and password are provided when a Virtual Terminal master account is established. This initial administrator can create user accounts and additional administrator accounts. These user/administrator accounts, as well as the rights and privileges associated with these accounts, apply to MeS PC Terminal as well as the web-based Virtual Terminal. Using a master account user name and password to login to the MeS PC Terminal will open up the available multi-merchant functionality. This allows multiple merchant accounts to use a single version of the software and the attached hardware. Both the Virtual Terminal web application and the MeS PC Terminal will notify users when their password is about to expire, and allow a new password to be entered. For a complete guide to password rules and requirements, please refer to the Help section of the web-based Virtual Terminal. Page 4

3. Master Account Basics Using a master account login not only gives users access to the master account interface or Master Account Level, but also gives users access to the merchant account interface or Merchant Account Level. The master account Level is used to manage all of the master account functions such as managing master account users, settling multiple batches, easily moving from one merchant account to another, and viewing combined merchant account reports. The merchant account Level interface is used to manage all the functionality of the individual merchant accounts. Master Account Level If only the top menu bar is available, and the MasterAcctName is displayed, the user is at the master account level. At this level the top menu bar controls all of the master account functions, and any action completed using the master account menu bar applies to the master account only. Only master account users will have the master menu bar. Merchant Account Level If both menu bars are available, and a Merchant name is displayed, the user is at the merchant account level. At this level any action or function initiated from the middle menu bar only applies to account being displayed. In order to switch to a different merchant account, the user must use the MASTER-HOME option on the top menu bar. Please Note: Transactions processed while using a master account will be captured and settled in the individual merchant account batches. The individual merchant accounts linked to a master account do not share a combined batch. Page 5

4. Master Account Home Page The MeS Virtual Terminal master account home page gives users the ability to quickly enter a transaction on any account, settle single or multiple batches, and manage individual accounts, and displays the most up to date MeS Virtual Terminal News. Enter a Transaction The Enter a Transaction link gives users the ability to quickly enter a transaction for any account. Clicking the link will open a merchant selection popup window, and selecting a merchant will take you directly to that accounts transaction entry page. In the event the wrong account is selected, the user can use the Select a Different Account link available at the bottom of the transaction entry screen. Settle a Batch The Settle a Batch link allows users to settle batches for the individual accounts. Users should check the box next to each batch they want to settle, and then click the Settle Selected Batches button. The user will then be prompted to confirm the batch settlement(s) or cancel the process. The 3 columns of links on the right will take the user directly to that accounts current batch details. Page 6

5. Master-Admin Menu The Master-Admin menu gives master account administrators the ability to create and manage additional user accounts, set the master account security parameters, and assign nick-names to the individual accounts. User Profiles The User Profiles function gives master account administrators the ability to manage all of the existing master account user profiles. This includes changing the user profile information, updating temporary passwords, setting user permissions, and deleting user profiles no longer needed. Add New User Master account administrators should use this function to create new master account user profiles. Security Settings This function gives master account administrators the ability to limit the IP addresses in which the MeS Virtual Terminal can be accessed from. Assign Nicknames Master account administrators have the ability to add nick-names to each account making it easier to identify the accounts on many of the screens and reports. Page 7

6. Master-Reports The Master-Reports menu gives users the ability to view and print reports that combine the transaction and batch details of the individual merchant accounts linked to the MeS Virtual Terminal master account. There are several reports to choose from for both settled and pending settlement transactions. Users must select the type of report they want to run, select a date (settled batch reports only), and click the Run button. Selecting a date is not required for pending settlement reports, because the pending settlement reports will automatically include all transactions in the current batch with a Pending Settlement status. Settled Batch Totals Report: This report includes the batch totals for each merchant that settled a batch for the date selected. Settled Batch Details Report by Merchant: This report includes transaction details on all settled transactions for the date selected broken down by each merchant account. Page 8

Settled Batch Details Report Combined: This report includes transaction details on all settled transactions for the date selected combining the transactions of all merchants. Pending Settlement Totals Report: This report includes the totals of all pending settlement transactions in the current batch for each merchant. Pending Settlement Details Report by Merchant: This report includes transaction details on all pending settlement transactions in the current batch separated by merchant account. Page 9

Pending Settlement Details Report Combined: This report includes transaction details on all pending settlement transaction in the current batch of each merchant in a combined list. Please Note: Additional transaction and customer reports are available at the individual account level under the Reports menu on the lower menu bar. These reports only apply to the individual accounts, and any custom reports created can only be accessed at the account level. Page 10

7. MeS PC Terminal Multiple Merchant Function The MeS PC Terminal multiple merchant functionality was designed for business locations in which multiple merchant accounts will be processing transactions within a single location. This functionality allows multiple merchants to use a single PC, card reader, and printer to process transactions without the need to log in and out multiple times throughout the day. The same Master Account login used for the web-based Virtual Terminal should be used to login to the MeS PC Terminal to enable the multi-merchant functionality. Logging in to the MeS PC Terminal using a master account login will open the merchant selection window. This window makes is easy to switch from one account to another. 1. Choose an account from the drop down box. 2. Click the Select button. 3. Process the transaction as usual or use the Switch Merchant Account link to go back to the merchant selection window. When utilizing the multi-merchant interface, functions used only apply to the account that is selected. For example, if an account chooses to use the batch close function only that account s batch will be settled, and all other accounts must also complete the batch close function individually. The ability for functions to be applied to multiple accounts at the same time is not available through the MeS PC Terminal. Page 11
