1. Getting Started Requirements 1. Any operating system is compatible however depending on the version this may affect your internet experience. 2. Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher/firefox 2.0 or higher. 3. Ethernet network adapter. 4. Wireless enabled computer if you are using the wireless feature. Connecting the NB14WN to your computer 1. Connect the network cable to one of the yellow ports located at the back of the modem; the other end will connect to your computer. 2. Connect a telephone cable to the black port labelled ADSL at the back of the modem, and connect the other end to your telephone wall socket. 3. Finally, connect the power cable to your modem and the power adaptor to your power point. Press the power button to the ON state. The diagram located below shows how the modem connects physically to your phone line, computer and power point.

4. Now that the modem is connected to your computer, phone line and powered on, you need to ensure that the lights on the modem indicate the following: Label Power DSL Ethernet (1-4) Action On On On or blinking Once you will also see a network icon appear in your task bar, you are now ready to setup your ClubTelco internet connection. The image below shows the message box which should appear once the modem is connected and powered on. Connecting Filters Connecting a Central or Splitter Filter This filter is used when you need to plug a telephone and the modem in the same telephone wall socket. There are three ports on the central filter as follows: Line This port connects to your telephone wall socket. ADSL This port connects to the modem s black port labeled ADSL. Phone This port connects to a telephone or other types of telephony devices (for example a fax machine).

From the diagram below you can see the splitter (micro) filter acts as a double adapter and filter. Home Phone Phone Jack Microfilter Phone Jack Telephone Wall Socket Connecting an Inline Filter This filter is used on all telephones, fax lines, etc. An inline filter is placed between the telephony device and the telephone wall socket and should never be installed on the ADSL modem s phone cable/connection. The diagram below shows that the inline filter only connects to your telephony devices. 2. Configuring Your Modem Logging into your modem 1. Open a web browser (usually Internet Explorer) and in the address bar enter: http://192.168.1.1 2. You will be asked for a username and password, enter the following login details: Username: admin Password: admin As pictured below you can see once the modem address (http://192.168.1.1) has been entered the login page will automatically appear.

Connecting your ADSL modem to access ClubTelco 1. Once you have logged into your modem, at the top of the screen click on Quick Start followed by the Run Wizard button once the screen has loaded. 2. The Quick Start screen will now load, providing you with the steps for the setup. Please click Next to continue.

3. If you want to change the password for your modem you can by entering in a new password. If you choose to do so please note down the new password somewhere safe as you will need it later should you need to login to the modem. If you do not want to change the modem s password simply type admin in both the New Password and Confirmed Password boxes. Click Next to continue. 4. Please select your time zone and click Next.

5. From the connection types please select PPPoE/PPPoA. Click Next to continue. 6. You will now need to enter in your ADSL connection settings. Please complete these as follows and click Next when completed: Username: Simply enter your ClubTelco username but much like your email address, for example; johnsmith@clubtelco.com.au Password: Enter the password you ve selected at sign-up VPI: 8 VCI: 35 Connection Type: PPPoE LLC username@clubtelco.com

7. Finally to complete the setup and save your settings, click Next. 8. Your modem has now saved the settings. Click Close and your modem will connect to ClubTelco s internet service. This can take a few minutes so please be patient. Once connected the WWW light will turn on and flash to indicate internet traffic. Try browsing to a website such as www.google.com.au to test your connection.

3. Setting Up Wireless Configuring your wireless connection 1. Log back into the modem and at the top of the screen and click on Interface Setup followed by Wireless. 2. Before beginning, ensure that Access Point is set to Activated at the top of the screen: Now under the Multiple SSID Settings section, please enter the following settings: SSID Index: 1 Broadcast SSID: Yes Use WPS: No SSID: This will be the name given to your wireless network Authentication Type: WEP-64 Bits clubtelco_user

3. You will now have an option to setup your WEP key; this will ensure that in order to connect to your wireless network a password will be required. In the Key#1 text box please enter a password of 10 characters. Please note that you are limited to using the numbers 0 9 and letters a - f. Once ready click the Save button at the bottom of your screen, and your wireless connection will now be configured. Connecting your computer via wireless 1. Once you have configured your modem, unplug the network cable from the computer, navigate your computer to your wireless network connections/settings and search for your newly created wireless connection. 2. Once you have found your wireless connection, attempt to connect to it. You will be prompted to enter a network key, enter the WEP key you have chosen in Step 3 of Configuring your wireless connection. 3. The computer will acquire a network address automatically and the wireless connection will be connected.

4 Email & Homepage Setup Email setup To check your ClubTelco email you can go to http://www.clubtelco.com.au/members/ and under the Login section in the upper left hand side enter your username and password then click the Webmail button. Alternatively if you wish to setup your ClubTelco email address on your computer please go to: http://www.clubtelco.com.au/members/support/index.aspx and under the Email heading in Self Service select Email Setup Guides and the mail client you are using. Homepage setup 1. If you wish to setup your homepage simply open Internet Explorer and select Tools from the menu selection at the top of the screen and click on Internet Options 2. Within the General tab click in the address bar under the Homepage heading and enter http://www.clubtelco.com or the website of your choice. Click OK to complete the setup. http://www.clubtelco.com
