Important Information - Must be read before installing software. 1) This document pertains to the installation of SQL Server 2008 R2 for use with the CardAccess 3000, V2.8.x and V2.9.x. 2) Prior to performing this installation, you must verify you have Full Administrator permissions. 3) The CardAccess 3000, V2.8.x and V2.9.x installation checks for any previous instances of SQL Server prior to performing the installation. If it does not find any instances of SQL Server, it will install SQL Server 2008 R2 Express by default. If you choose to use SQL Server 2012, you must preinstall it prior to installing the CardAccess 3000. SQL Server 2012 can either be the Full version or the SQL Server 2012 Express version. Note: SQL Server 2012 is not on any versions of CardAccess 3000 up to the date this document was written. 4) It is very important to verify the SQL services and protocols were installed and configured properly during the installation. Refer to Appendix A for more information on this. To perform these verifications, you must use the SQL Server Configuration Manager which is installed by default. 5) During the installation of CardAccess 3000, a SQL user will be created for the CardAccess 3000 to use. Refer to Appendix B for more information. Performing the steps in Appendix B will require you to install the SQL Server Management Studio. SQL Server Management Studio 2008 can be installed from the CardAccess 3000 DVD. 6) It is very important to make the changes as per page 15. This includes configuring SQL Server for Mixed Mode Authentication. Other important steps are outlined throughout the document and also in Appendix A and B. 4

Scope This document contains information regarding the installation of SQL Server 2008 R2 for use with the CardAccess 3000, V2.9.88 Build 276 and later. The CardAccess 3000, V2.9.88 DVD does not contain any versions of SQL 2012. The CardAccess 3000 DVD includes SQL Server 2008 R2 Express. Prerequisites SQL Server 2008 R2 (Full Version) with a valid license key or SQL Server 2008 R2 Express. A supported operating System (Windows XP Pro, Win 7 Pro, Enterprise, Ultimate, Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard and Data Center, Windows 8.1 Pro and Windows Server 2012 R2, both Standard and Data Center. SQL Server 2008 R2 Installation 1) If auto start is enabled on your system, the Auto Play screen will display after inserting the SQL Server 2008 R2 DVD in the DVD drive. Click Run Setup.exe. If auto start is not enabled on your system, nothing will occur after inserting the CA3000 DVD. Follow the steps below to execute the program. 2) Using Windows File Explorer, navigate to the d: drive. Click setup.exe. The SQL Server 2008 R2 installation should start (Refer to Figure 1). Note: d: represents the DVD drive letter. This letter will be different depending on the drive letter of your DVD. Figure 1. 3) After the installation starts, a Please wait while Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Setup processes the current operation screen will display. Refer to Figure 1. 6

Figure 2. 4) The SQL Server Installation Center screen will display next with Planning selected. This screen offers many utilities for documentation, compatibility and others. For our demonstration, we will not execute any of these utilities and continue with the installation. Refer to Figure 2. Figure 3. 5) Click the Installation selection. On the Installation screen, click New Installation or add features to an existing installation. Refer to Figure 3. 7

Figure 4. 6) The Setup Support Rules screen will display next. Setup Support rules check to see if all the requirements are met prior to setup. If there are any errors, the errors must be corrected before the setup is continued. For more information on the errors, click Show Details. Click OK. Refer to Figure 4. Figure 5. 7) The Product Key screen will display next. Enter the Product Key. If this screen does not display, there is a possibility the product key is built into the DVD. Click Next. Refer to figure 5. 8

Figure 6. 8) The License Terms screen displays. Select I Accept the license terms checkbox. Click Next. Refer to Figure 6. Figure 7. 9) The next screen to display is the Setup Support Files screen. Click Install to install the Setup Support Files. Refer to Figure 7. Note: If a Product Updates screen displays prior to Figure 7, click Next to continue. 9

Figure 8. 10) The Setup Support Files screen will display next. This will copy all the required setup files. When all the files are copied, the Install button will be enabled. Click Install. Refer to Figure 8. Figure 9. 11) The Setup Support Rules screen will display. After it is completed, click Show Details to display the status of each Rule. If any errors displays, the errors must be corrected prior to continuing. If any Warnings display, it is recommended to view the details and determine if anything needs attention. Click Next. Refer to Figure 9. 10

Figure 10. 12) The Setup Role screen will display next. The default selection is the SQL Server Feature Installation option. Leave at the default, and click Next. Refer to figure 10. Figure 11. 13) The Feature Selection screen displays next. Select the features you wish to have installed on your system. For our demonstration, we will Select All. Refer to Figure 11. 11

Figure 12. 14) The Installation Rules screen displays next. Again, the system will run rules to check the system for compatibility. If any errors (Failures) display, click Show details for more information. Click Next. Refer to Figure 12. Figure 13. 15) The Instance Configuration screen displays. The Default Instance will be selected by default. Keep this at the default and click Next. Refer to Figure 13. 12

Figure 14. 16) The Disk Space Requirements screen will display next. Review the Disk Usage to verify you have enough disk space. Click Next. Refer to Figure 14. 13

Figure 15. 17) The Server Configuration screen displays next. This screen displays all the services that are installed and the service accounts that are used to start and control the services through the Windows operating system. You must add in account under Account Name for each service. You must also set the Startup Type to Automatic for SQL Server Agent and SQL Server Browser. In most cases, these two services might not be used, but it s safe to have them running. Refer to Figures 15 and 16 for the settings before and after. Notes: If the selected Service Accounts do not have the proper permissions, an error will display. The SQL Server Browser is disabled by default. You must set the Startup Type to Automatic. The SQL Server Agent Startup Type should be set to Automatic. It might be used to run custom scripts/jobs. The Full-Text Filter Deamon Startup Type defaults to Manual. This is one service you can leave the Startup Type set to Manual. 14

Figure 17. 18) The Database Engine Configuration screen displays next. On this screen, the default selections MUST be changed to reflect Continental required settings. The following selections must be changed: Change Authentication Mode to Mixed Mode (SQL Server authentication and Windows Authentication). Enter the password of Cic!23456789 for the SQL Server System Administrator (sa) account. Type this in a second time to confirm. Note: It is recommended to use the default password. Add the Windows Administrator user to the SQL Server Administrators box. Click Add Current User to add it in. Very Important: You must change the Authentication Mode to Mixed Mode for the CardAccess 3000 to function properly. Changing the sa password is optional, but it s recommended you leave it at the Continental recommended password. Reminder: If the sa password is changed, you must always have it available in the future. 19) After the changes have been made, click Next. Refer to figure 17. 16

If any errors display, click the Show Details button for more information. If an error displays, the problem should be resolved to prevent the installation from failing. If no errors display, click Next. Refer to Figure 19. 17

26) After the installation of SQL Server 2008 R2 is complete, reboot the computer. 27) It is very important to verify the installation was performed correctly and the settings were configured properly. Perform the steps in Appendix A and B. To perform the steps in Appendix B, you must install SQL Server Management Studio from the CardAccess 3000 DVD or from the SQL Server 2008 R2 DVD. APPENDIX A Using SQL Server Configuration Manager to verify Services and Protocols 1) Using the SQL Configuration Manager, verify the SQL Server Services are configured properly in regard to Start Mode and the State. The State should be Running for all services. Refer to Figure A1. Notes: The SQL Server Configuration Manager utility can be found on the Start Menu under SQL Server 2008 R2>Configuration Tools. It is installed by default. In most cases, the SQL Server Browser and SQL Server Agent is not started by default. Set the Start Mode to Automatic for these two Services and Start the services. Refer to Figure A1. In the example below, the SQL Full-text Filter Deamon Launcher is not set to Automatic. This is optional. Figure A1. 21

2) Verify the Protocols for your instance of SQL Server is configured as per figure A2. WARNING: Failure to enable the protocols as per Figure A2, will result in SQL Server failures. Figure A2. 22

APPENDIX B Using SQL Management Studio to view the SQL User created by CardAccess 3000 Note: The SQL Server Management Studio is not installed by default. This can be found and installed from the CardAccess 3000 DVD. 1) During the installation of CardAccess 3000, a SQL user with the name of cic should be created automatically. If the cic user is not created automatically, you will have to create it manually. This can be verified under Security>Logins using SQL Server Management studio. Refer to Figure B1. Reminder: The creation of the cic user will occur during the installation of CardAccess 3000. These steps should be verified after the installation of CardAccess 3000 is performed. Figure B1. 23

3) If the password is changed for the cic user on the SQL side, it also must be changed in the CardAccess 3000 Database utilities. Refer to figure B7. WARNING: If the default passwords are changed for sa or cic, you must document them and have them available while calling into to Continental Technical Support. The technical support team will not know the passwords and will be unable to assist you unless you have the correct passwords. Figure B7. 27
