3 Software Programs Needed Microsoft Server 2003 or Later Microsoft SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012: Express, Workstation, Web, Standard, Enterprise, or Datacenter Create Folders Identify the largest drive and create a folder called Savance as shown below. Within the Savance folder, create the following folders as shown below. 3

4 Unzip the C:\Savance\Releases\{Latest Release}\Web\Web.zip file into the C:\Savance \Web folder you created. The copy over the contents of the C:\Savance\Releases\{Latest Release}\Web\Web_ToBeMerged\ folder to the C:\Savance\Web folder, if those files don t already exist. You will want to make sure that you Share the following folders with everyone on the network edocs - Read/Write access OSSetup - Read access OSSync - Read access Install SQL Server ***This is only for installing SQL on a server that does not already have SQL installed on the default instance. The screenshots and instructions apply to SQL Server 2008 but should apply to all versions. Requirements (Depends on version of SQL being installed. Refer to Microsoft s Website for more exact requirements) Microsoft 2003 Server Service Pack 1 or Higher.NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 or Higher 2014 Savance 4

5 Install SQL Server Download and install your selected version of SQL Supported versions o Microsoft SQL Server 2005, 2008, or 2008 R2 Express, Workstation, Web, Standard, Enterprise, or Datacenter Installation Choose: New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation Setup Support Rules (all passed) Choose: next> 5

The password must be at least 7 characters on domain controllers and 0 on stand-alone servers. 13 Installation Progress Configure SQL *Enable TCP/IP and Named Pipes to network configuration Go to SQL Server Management Studio 1. Open the SQL Server Configuration Manager (Start > SQL Server 2008 > Configuration Tools > SQL Server Configuration Manager) 13

14 2. Navigate to the SQL Server Network Configuration > Protocols for MSSQLServer node in the tree view 3. Enable TCP/IP and Named Pipes (you ll be warned that these changes will not apply until the service is shutdown) 4. Restart the SQLServer Service Create Database in SQL Server Launch the SQL Server Management Studio 2014 Savance 14

15 Connect to the Server Choose Authentication: SQL Server Authentication Login: sa Password: ******* Choose: Connect 15

16 Create New Database Right Click on Database and select > New Database Database name: SolutionSavant Change the path to: C:\Savance\Database (or wherever you placed the savance folder) ****Do this for both the Database file as well as the log file 2014 Savance 16

17 Choose: OK> Database Created Create Database User Drill down into the SolutionSavant database > SolutionSavant > Security > Users Right Click on Users > New User 17

18 Type Username > Enterprise Type Login > Users Add user to Owned Scheme > db_owner Add user to Role Member > db_owner Create SQL Database User Drill down into the Security folder of the Server> Server Name> Security > Logins Right Click on Logins > New Login 2014 Savance 18
