INSTRUCTOR: 40 HOUR ADVANCED HOSTAGE RESCUE COURSE TBD CSAT CLASSROOM, NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS CSAT is proud to announce that we will conduct a five-day ADVANCED HOSTAGE RESCUE course at the Nacogdoches, Training Facility. This course is not for the novice SWAT Officer. It will be instructed by PAUL HOWE of CSAT, one of the most knowledgeable instructors in the field of hostage rescue today. Paul has over 20 years in the U. S. Military and over 10 years in the Army s elite Special Operations. Major topics of the class: Movement to Breach Points Officer Rescue Interior Movement CQB Medical Multiple Breach points Planning Command and Control Emergency Assaults Deliberate Assaults EQUIPMENT NEEDED: All normal tactical equipment including vest, helmet, eye and ear protection. This class will utilize simunition and paintball weapons. Students are required to bring simunition kits/weapons along with 200 rounds of RIFLE simunition ammo. Students are also required to bring protective gear for simunitions. Paul has 26 sims rifle bolts to the course so students can use their issue rifle for the training. These bolts require rifle sims to function and you are welcome to use them. Due to the sensitive nature of this course, all students will be asked to provide agency I.D. s. Over the last eleven years Paul Howe/CSAT has been training law enforcement agencies across the United States. Teams will eat, live and train with their team for the duration of the class. Students will be will be treated like professionals and will be required to act accordingly. This class will prepare the SWAT officer to perform advanced skills in their tactical unit. Major topics to be covered: Rifle Marksmanship Pistol Marksmanship Single and Two Person Corner Clears Window Ports Exterior Movement CQB Hallways Hostage Rescue Assault Planning Vehicle and Bus Assaults Live Fire React Team Procedures Medical Live Fire Tactical Scenarios AMMUNITION REQUIREMENTS: 700 Ball Pistol 700 Ball Rifle PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Students should be in adequate physical condition to train in tactical gear for 10 hours at a time.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED: All Tactical gear, to include helmet, vest, gas mask, flash light, eyes, ears. Rifle and Pistol, pistol belt. Rifle should have sling. Bring water and inclement weather gear. Manuals will be provided. If possible, have shoulder weapons (rifles) zeroed to 100 yards. BARRACKS/MEALS: BARRACKS AVAILABLE Students will eat locally or they can purchase food and eat in the barracks. Two refrigerators and microwaves are available. REPORTING: Students will report on Sunday, Day 1 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon to in-process. Class starts at 1:00 pm on Sunday. Show up in Tac Uniform and leave equipment in the car. INSTRUCTORS: BASIC SWAT NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS CSAT is proud to host a 60 Hour Basic Swat Class. Over the last eight years Paul Howe/CSAT has been training law enforcement agencies across the United States. Teams will eat, live and train with their team for the duration of the class. Students will be will be treated like professionals and will be required to act accordingly. Students will be counseled in writing on negative behavior and the staff reserves the right to release as student from the course for Major Violations or a Disruptive or Unprofessional attitude. During my January course, I will be teaching it full time. For subsequent courses, I will be there part time monitoring the quality control, shooting and doing CQB with students and will teach specialize segments. This class will prepare the new SWAT officer to seamlessly integrate into their tactical unit. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Students should set their personal training goals to exceed: 1.5 Mile Run: 13:35 Push ups One Minute: 26 Sit ups One Minute: 34 An extended physical training and shooting diagnostic event will be executed on day one. Further physical training during the week will target those individuals who perform poorly on this event in an effort to educate them on how to physically train themselves to better support their team and mission. EQUIPMENT NEEDED: All Tactical gear, to include helmet, vest, gas mask, flash light, eyes, ears. Rifle and Pistol, pistol belt. Rifle should have sling. Simunition rifle and pistol and sims protective gear to include mask/helmet. Bring water and inclement weather gear. Manuals will be provided. If possible, have should weapons (rifles) zeroed to 100 yards. MEALS: Students will eat locally or they can purchase food and eat in the barracks. Two refrigerators and microwaves are available. Paul has over 20 years in the U. S. Military and over 10 years in the Army s elite Special Operations Forces. During his tour in Special Operations, Paul spent two years as a Senior Instructor and has attended the FBI Firearms Instructor course along with numerous other shooting courses. The course will address the following major topics: Safe set-up and instruction Surgical shooting Discrimination Weapon Zero Shooting Positions for tactical/non-tactical equipment Barricade shooting/use of cover Protective Mask Fire Low Light Fire Instructional Techniques Shooting Plan Development Dealing with Problem Shooters Target Selection Practical Instruction Concealed Carry PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: None COURSE REQUIREMENTS: Students must make at least 70% on all quizzes and tests to complete the course. Further, students must pass 8 out of 10 shooting standards during a course of fire to qualify. Finally, students must successfully present a block of instruction to new students on day five or six. EQUIPMENT NEEDED: All normal tactical equipment including, pistol, holster, mag pouches, magazines, eye and ear protection. 1200 rounds for the pistol are required. Bring hot/cold weather gear as required. Handouts will be provided. Bring concealed carry equipment if so inclined. Also, bring a gun light and/or handheld light for low light work and at least 3 magazines. Also, bring cleaning gear.

During my tour in Special Operations, I spent two years as a Senior Instructor and Sniper, instructing such topics as Basic Rifle Marksmanship and precision marksmanship. On day 1, instructors will be assigned a block of instruction to be delivered to new students on day 5-6 which will be graded. Instructors will also be required to pass a shooting test and score 70% on written exams to pass the course. The course will address the following major topics: 3-5 Person (Team) CQB Safe set-up Multi-room CQB Surgical shooting (Rifle/Pistol) Multi-team CQB Training methodology Multi-Breach Point CQB Single Person CQB Flash bang employment 1-2 Person CQB Medical Emergencies This course will focus on the safety fundamentals required to execute this training. Students will be tested with 3 classroom quizzes and several hands-on training scenarios. Finally, students will be required to set-up and train fellow students in live fire CQB under instructor supervision. A 70% pass rate will be required to successfully complete the course. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: None EQUIPMENT NEEDED: All normal tactical equipment including rifle, pistol, vest, helmet, eye and ear protection. Bring inclement weather gear as required.
