JOB DESCRIPTION(S) We are currently seeking applicants for the positions of sports and general orthopedic physiotherapists at both the staff and senior level. Job Description for Sports Physiotherapist Role Purpose To provide direct clinical care, which encompasses; physiotherapy assessment, treatment and management of patients within the department. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES Key Accountabilities Key Activities 1. Operational Framework Act independently, with advice of a Senior Physiotherapist to assess, analyze and provide a clinical diagnosis for individual patients to determine their need for physiotherapy intervention. Act independently, with advice of a Senior Physiotherapist to plan, implement, evaluate, treat and progress patient care to maximize rehabilitation potential. Advance treatment progression of patients with the advice of the Senior Physiotherapist as needed. Manage a caseload of athletes, utilizing the advice of a Senior Physiotherapist as needed; independently manage a caseload of non-athletes effectively and efficiently. Ability to examine and treat specific conditions across range of sports and sporting situations at a proficient level Provide moderate input in to development of assessment and treatment protocols. Contribute to evidence based practice in the department at a proficient level (ex. Participate in protocol reviews). Independent charting using SOAP format. Participate in physiotherapy and team in-service training to promote personal development

Make a decision regarding discharge planning of patients, with advice from the Senior Physiotherapist. Assist Senior Physiotherapist with staff continuing education. Provide in-service briefing following attendance at a course or conference. Maintain a proficient standard of ethical and professional behavior when treating and dealing with athletes / patients 2. Monitoring Participate in the departmental personal development and performance review system to promote personal and service developments. Participate in clinical audit to support the physiotherapy service clinical governance strategy. 3. Coordination Liaise with Senior Physiotherapists to gain support and direction in management of their caseload. Work as part of a team to ensure effective communication and delivery of care. Communicate and recommend to relevant disciplines of staff to maximize patient care and promote multidisciplinary team working. 4. Reporting and Documentation Maintain patient documentation, records and accurate statistical information to reflect care provided and meet professional standards. Independent charting using SOAP format Assume any other responsibilities as directed by the direct supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Necessary knowledge and Experience to be able to do the job 5-8 years of orthopedic facility experience 3-5 years of sports physiotherapy experience Skills and Abilities: Ability to multi-task and to work with frequent interruptions. Meticulous and pays attention to detail. Ability to establish good working relationships and to work within a team. Ability to work well under pressure. Sports physiotherapy background would be advantageous.

Education and Certification requirements Master degree in sport physiotherapy is desired Bachelor degree in physiotherapy or equivalent required. Develop an area of specialization in sports physiotherapy with involvement in teaching and mentorship in this field Contribute to evidence based practice in the department at a mastery level (ex. Participate in protocol reviews). Responsible for management and development of Physiotherapists I and II as requested. Demonstrates leadership at staff professional development activities (case reviews, workshops, courses and in-services) at a mastery level Undertake a mentally and physically demanding job, whilst at the same time taking care to safeguard their own health and safety as well as colleagues and patients. Utilization of research skills and participation in research projects at a proficient level as requested Be a champion in the department for current practices and new initiatives Communicate to department leaders matters concerning current and potential operations 10. Monitoring Will assume the role of Lead Clinical Physiotherapist in their absence to maintain continuity of service delivery.

Supervise clinical workload and provide day-to-day management of Staff Grade Physiotherapists, to maximize efficiency and achieve desired quality of care. Utilizes a variety of assessment and treatment techniques and skills at a mastery level. Participate in, and if necessary undertake, the departmental Personal Development and Performance Review system to promote personal and service developments. Participate in clinical audit to support the Physiotherapy Service Clinical Governance Strategy. Assist in the teaching of nursing, medical, other multidisciplinary team members, educational staff and others to promote knowledge of physiotherapy management to enhance patient care. Perform caseload and service management efficiently and effectively, utilizing available supports as required, within assigned scope of practice and job duties 11. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Necessary knowledge and Experience to be able to do the job Education and Certification requirements 10-15 years of sports medicine/orthopedic physiotherapy experience of which a minimum of 2-3 years should be in a similar position / responsibility, preferably in a similar Industry. Proven leadership skip through clinical mentorship, teaching skills, peer reviews, publications, clinical specialization, supervisory experience and project development. Skills and Abilities: Ability to multi-task and to work with frequent interruptions. Meticulous and pays attention to detail. Ability to establish good working relationships and to work within a team. Ability to work well under pressure. Sports physiotherapy background would be advantageous. PHD or Master Degree in Physiotherapy is desired Bachelor degree in physiotherapy or equivalent. Registered with home country Physiotherapy Association.
