It is the basis of the Plena Voice Alarm System, and has all the essential fnctionality for compliance with the EN 54 16 and EN 60849 standards, inclding fll system spervision, lodspeaker line impedance spervision, a spervised emergency microphone on the front panel and a spervised message manager. The messages can be merged to allow even more flexible se of pre recorded annoncements and evacation messages. The controller can be sed as a stand alone system with p to six zones, or expanded to p to 120 zones sing additional six zone roters. Up to eight call stations can be connected. Interconnections are made sing standard RJ45 connectors and shielded CAT-5 cable. A bilt in 240 W amplifier provides the power for the emergency call channel and BGM. Additional amplifiers can be added to provide two channel operation. All amplifiers are spervised. The adio otpt ses standard analog adio 100 V line switching for fll compatibility with the prodct family of pblic address eqipment and Bosch EVAC-compliant lodspeakers. The system is configred sing DIP switches for basic fnctionality and a PC for more advanced fnctions. Fnctions The controller has two BGM sorce inpts and a mic/ line inpt with configrable priority, speech filter, phantom power and selectable VOX activation. A total of 16 priority levels can be specified for microphone, call stations and trigger inpts for optimm system flexibility. The powerfl 240 W otpt section has six transformer-isolated 100 V constant-voltage otpts for driving 100 V lodspeakers in six separate zones. The 100 V-techniqe redces line losses on longer distances and provides easy parallel connection of mltiple lodspeakers. All zones may be individally selected from the front panel, and the BGM otpt level in each zone can be individally set in six steps. The controller spports A/B wiring. The configration software is provided on www.boschsecrity.com from the software download section of the Plena Voice Alarm System controller. The software package also incldes many sefl programs, sch as; MP3-ripping software, a samplerate converter, varios adio and visal tools, and free, MP3-coded msic.
2 LBB 1990/00 Plena Voice Alarm Controller The amplifier otpt is also available as a separate otpt on 100 V and 70 V. A separate 100 V call-only otpt provides addressing for an area where BGM is not reqired bt where priority annoncements are. Six configrable volme-override otpt contacts are available for overriding local volme controls dring priority calls. Both for-wire and three-wire schemes are spported. An LED meter monitors the otpt. Up to 255 messages can be stored in the internal 16 MB flash ROM, withot a need for battery backp. Each message can have any length within the total available capacity. Messages and configrations are ploaded from a PC via USB 2 into the memory, after which the nit operates withot a PC connection. The standard WAV-format is sed for the messages, and sample rates of 8 khz p to 24 khz with 16-bit word length (linear PCM) are spported. This gives p to 17 mintes of recording time with CD qality signal to noise ratio. The nit has 12 contact trigger inpts for bsiness and emergency (EMG) calls. Each can be configred for a message consisting of a seqence of p to eight wave files. In this way some wave files may be sed in varios combinations with other messages, optimizing flexibility and the amont of storage space sed. Mltiple messages can be merged to form one integrated message. A zone selection, together with this seqence can be configred for each trigger inpt.
