Global perspective Asia 22 % 3,5 % Western Europe Latin America & Carribean China 70 % 2,6% 8% 2,3 % North America Near East and North Africa 1,3 % Central and Eastern Europe 0,9 % Sub Saharan Africa Source: FAO The Salmon industry

Recent AKVA development Bluefin Tuna Yellow Tail Kingfish Cobia Intensive Shrimp Pangasius Sea Cucumbers Salmon

Case: Southern Bluefin Tuna farming, Australia The Stehr Group, Clean Seas Ltd., Australia The break-through in farming of Bluefin Tuna was awarded the world s 2nd best invention in 2009 by TIME Magazine. The advanced tank farming technology was delivered to Clean Seas Ltd. by AKVA group after Hagan Stehr took initiative for the development of this idea. Clean Seas Ltd. are now hatching and rearing fingerlings in the tanks, after which the fish are transferred to ocean farming cages. AKVA group s environmentally friendly tank farming technology was only beaten by NASA s new Ares 1 space exploration rocket. We believe it was okay to come in second...

Case: Yellow Tail farming, Saudi Arabia The National Prawn Company (NPC), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia National Prawn Company (NPC) is the biggest producer of shrimp in the Middle East. The company is now expanding rapidly into fish farming in order to diversify its seafood production. AKVA group has delivered several recirculation systems for NPC mainly for Yellow Tail, also called Greater Amberjack, Seriola dumerili. This tuna-like fish is vicious and fast swimming, which requires skilful system design and innovative solutions developed together by NPC and AKVA. The goal is to reach a total production of 50.000 tons.

Case: Recirculation Shrimp farming, Thailand The Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company LTD (CP), Thailand CP is the biggest producer of shrimp in Thailand and probably the largest producer of shrimp feed in all of Asia. Together with AKVA group, the company is developing a super intensive indoor production system at the CP Shrimp Culture Development Centre in Samutsongkram, Thailand. AKVA group has delivered all the recirculation equipment and made the design in 3D drawings. Closed biosecure and predictable SPF shrimp farming is rapidly on its way as an alternative to this traditional boom and bust industry.

Nordic natural resources Seawater Gulf Stream = Norwegian salmon farming Baltic Waters = Swedish and Danish cage farming Sites for mussel farming Freshwater Rivers = Danish trout farming / Norwegian smolt Lakes = Finnish trout farming
