FEATURES Single, synchronized authoring session for business process documents, test scripts, training manuals, simulations, performance support, and quick reference guides Multiple learning methods: viewing simulations, practice simulations, and knowledge tests In-application performance support Content workflow and management including check-in and checkout, versioning, rollbacks, and status updates Multilanguage translation CA Productivity Accelerator is a collaborative content development platform that allows enterprises to drive user productivity and mitigate risk throughout all phases of the software ownership lifecycle. This document provides the minimum requirements for various CA Productivity Accelerator components. Your organization might be implementing some or all of these components, so refer to the sections that are applicable to you. Multiuser Install The content authors who create training content use the CA Productivity Accelerator development tool. This section outlines the technical requirements for a multiuser installation. In a multiuser installation, the core CA Productivity Accelerator development tool files are installed on a central server for content sharing, and a client version of the CA Productivity Accelerator development tool is installed locally on the content author s workstation. Single User Install The CA Productivity Accelerator development tool is installed for use by content authors who will be creating training content. This section outlines the requirements for a single user installation. Content Publication This section discusses the requirements for published output from CA Productivity Accelerator that is, the content that end users will view and use. After recording CA Productivity Accelerator content using CA Productivity Accelerator developer tools, content authors will publish the content to one or more different published outputs. There are three types of published outputs discussed in this document: player, learning management (LMS), and HTML Web site. Server Requirements for Player and LMS Package and HTML Web Site 4 cores; 2GHz or greater 2GB or greater Between 500MB and 4GB of physical adequate for most implementations 100 Mb/sec. capable of communicating via HTTP(S) and TCP/IP Connection utilized for communication between the web server and content consumers. Web server LMS package Any Any Compliant with AICC 3.5, SCORM 1.2, or SCORM 2004 (4 th edition). Note: AICC deployments utilize a Java applet for LMS server communication. Sun JRE is on client workstations. End-User Requirements for Player and LMS Package and HTML Web Site (One supported browser and OS combination ) Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0 or 9.0 Mozilla Firefox 10 Apple Safari 5.0 or 5.1 Macintosh OS X 10.2.x or later Modern Linux distribution Macintosh OS X Note: Apple Safari is not supported for the CA PA SmartHelp browser add-in. Knowledge Center CA Productivity Accelerator includes a knowledge center component that can be used to track end-user progress through the published training content. Usage tracking is included with the CA Productivity Accelerator development tool. It is an optional component and is not to create or deploy CA Productivity Accelerator content. This section discusses the requirements for implementing this component. Server Requirements for Knowledge Center 4 cores; 2GHz or greater 4GB or greater 800 MB 300 MB for initial software installation, between 500MB and 4GB of physical adequate for most implementations 100 Mb/s capable of communicating via HTTP(S) and TCP/IP Connection utilized for communication between the server and the database. Content consumers can use lower bandwidth rates to access content.
