Standard Encoder with Versatile Options high speed signal processing large variety of interfaces compact size (58 mm) 4 mechanically versatile (hollow shaft, solid shaft, integrated coupling...) Signal processing Even if programmable, the speed of signal processing in CE 58 is comparable to that of non programmable, hardware encoders. This is achieved by the transformation from disc-signal to desired output code without use of the internal processor. The programmable incremental track, for example, has nearly the same speed as a hardware incremental encoder. Only special signals such as over speed control, limit switches... are computed by the processor. As it has no heavy load from the ordinary output signals, it also does this job with very short cycle times. Programmability Powerful sensors take away much of the load from the used control by intelligent signal-preprocessing. This begins with a freely programmable resolution and leads to over speed alarms, software limit switches, cam controller, etc.. The CE 58 can be user programmed, as with most of our absolute encoders. Our new programming tool TRWINProg is 100 % compatible with current WINDOWS versions and helps you with the setup of the encoder. By using an online link, it obtains current updates automatically. Field bus devices are programmed via the field bus. CE 58 supports many different field bus profiles. A very special device is the programmable incremental interface. This transforms a CE 58 single turn into an incremental encoder. You can programm the resolution and position of the zero pulse by yourself with our programming tool. Interfaces As you are used to with TR-Electronic, the CE 58 is available with a large variety of interfaces that can be combined for very special applications. Our sales team will help you find a solution for your specialized task in position measurement.

Mechanical features By using high quality materials, we have constructed an absolute encoder with maximum rotation speed of 12 000 1/min. With this device you have a resolution of 8192 steps with 4096 absolute turns. 32 768 turns are available as option. Compact type CE 58 series provides you with the whole range of interfaces and mechanical options in the compact housing diameter of 58 mm. (Not included: Connection elements as plugs, field bus hood...) 5 Versatile mechanics CE 58 internally is a hollow shaft encoder. This principle gives us the opportunity for different mechanical variations - starting with solid shaft with servo flange up to hollow-through shaft with torque support and clamping ring. On the following pages, we want to show you these mechanical variations. The displayed drawings show example applications and should show you the broad range of possibilities. The integrated claw coupling is a very space saving possibility for connecting the encoder. At the same time, it is a mechanically definite connection. Loses and vibration on the shaft are eliminated by a damping element, the encoder itself is mounted stable to the machine. With that direct connection, no movements between machine and encoder can occur. This is the best solution for application requiring high precision. The integrated couplings were mostly designed for motor feedback systems enabling the encoder to be mounted on the second shaft of a motor. As flange and clamping are designed individually for your application, the drawing shows only the basic device without counterpart and clamping flange. 13 CK 58-M integrated claw coupling; not shown: customer specific mounting flange

Explosion Proof Encoders According to ATEX AEV 70 14 Field of application This type is suitable for applications in surroundings with permanent or temporary explosive atmospheres classified as zones 1, 21, 2 and 22. Inside the protective housing there is whether an absolute encoder from our series CE_58 or an incremental encoder from our series IE_58. There are limitations concerning flange/shaft and connection technology. Please ask for particular case. Electrical Accessories Programming Adapter Connects the device with the PC. Changes signals from RS 232 to encoder programming interface, galvanically isolated. We suggest the use in conjunction with one of our switch cabinet modules. USB to encoder conversion on request. Mechanical Accessories Coupling CPS-couplings prevent, if correctly chosen and mounted, the encoder shaft from vibrations and shaft movements other than rotation.
