Precaution The Cisco Small Business IP phones are electronic devices that should not be exposed to excessive heat, sun, cold or water. To clean the equipment, use a slightly moistened paper or cloth towel. Do no spray or pour cleaning solution directly onto the hardware unit. 1

Installation * Before you install and connect your phone, verify with your phone administrator (if applicable) that the network is read for the phone, read the safety notices, and make sure you have all the phone parts and documentation available. 1. Turn the phone body over to expose the ports on the back of the unit. 2. Insert the long end of the phone cord into the handset port on the phone body. 3. Insert the other end of the phone cord into the port at the bottom of the handset. 4. Insert one end of the power cord into an outlet and insert the other end of the power cord into the power port on the phone body. * Connecting Cisco SPA 303 3 to the network 5. Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into the network port of the phone body marked [SW]. 6. Insert the other end of the Ethernet cable into the appropriate device, such as network switch, on your network. * If the phone does not start, confirm your installation and connections. Hold Button: Press [Hold] to place a call on hold. 9. Set up Button: Access to MENU to configure features and preferences. 10. Mute Button: Press [Mute] to mute or unmute the phone. 11. Headset Button: Press [Headset] to turn the headset on or off. 12. Volume Button: Adjusts the volume. 13. Speaker Button: Press [Speaker] to turn the speaker on or off. 14. Keypad: Used to dial phone numbers, enter letters and choose MENU items. 2

Setting up Cisco SPA 303 3 * Ensure that the phone is powered-up and connected to the Internet. 1. Verify the device s IP address. Press [Setup] button à Scroll to [Network] and press [Select] à The IP Address is displayed under [Current IP]. 2. Open Settings Page on Web Browser. Cisco SPA 303 3 and PC s network connection should be the same. Type the IP address on the Web browser field on a local PC. [Format: http://ipaddress à Example: Phone IP Address (192.168.001.002) à Type (http://192.168.1.2)] * If you have trouble accessing the configuration utility, perform the following steps: I. Press [Setup] button on the phone. II. Select [Network]. III. Scroll to [Enable Web Server] and make sure that it is set to [Yes]. If not, press the [Edit] soft key and press [y/n] soft key to set it to [Yes]. IV. Press [OK], then press [Save]. 3. Settings Page will automatically be displayed. Click [Admin Login] à Click [Advanced] à Click [System] tab. Primary NTP Server and Secondary NTP Server: Enter [ntp.jst.mfeed.ad.jp]. 4. Click [Regional] tab. Time Zone: Select your time zone (e.g. GMT +09:00]. 3

5. Click [Phone] tab. Set the following: Voicemail Number: 999 Line Key 1: Extension 1 Short Name: XXXXX Line Key 2: Extension Disable Line key 3: Extension Disable * Click [Submit] to save all changes. 5. Click [EXT 1] tab. Set the following: NAT Keep Alive Msg: Blank NAT Keep Alive Enable: Yes 4

Set the following: Mailbox ID: 999 Proxy: Enter Login Server. Unique ID Password Unique ID Unique ID Set the following: Display Name: Enter Unique ID. Auth ID: Enter Unique ID. User ID: Enter Unique ID. Password: Provided during UIS and DNS server purchase. * If you wish to change the password, you need to register the new password that will be used. Use Auth ID: Select [Yes]. Audio Configuration: Use the same settings displayed on the screen above. Dial Plan: [(xx.: *x. **x. ***x. *x.*x. *x.*x.*x. #x. #x.*x. #x.*x.*x.)] * If you enable Line Key 2, you would need to set up ext. 2, 3, 4, 5. * Click [Submit] to save all changes. 5

Precautions & Safety Instructions The following instructions help use Cisco SPA 303 3 properly and prevent accidents. Failure to follow these instructions would void the product s warranty and accident may happen. Immediately unplug the device from the power supply if there is a strange smell and smoke. Don t use the device and immediately contact the dealer for repair. Do not disassemble or modify. The device may malfunction, cause electric shock and fire. Do not insert metal and keep the device dry. The device may malfunction, cause electric shock and fire. Do not touch the device when lightning occurs. Doing so may cause an electrical shock. Don t place near a flammable material. This may cause fire or explosion. Holding the phone on wet hands may cause electric shock. Don t place the device in an extreme hot or cold place. Sudden temperature change may cause malfunction of the device. Do not place in a damp, dusty or direct sunlight. This may trigger an explosion of the device. Place in an even and stable location. Do not place the phone and earpiece near an absorbent and magnet material. This may cause malfunction. Troubleshooting Please check the troubleshooting procedure before requesting a repair. You must set all the required information to start initializing your service again. 1. Note the (000B82000xxxx) MAC address located at the bottom of the unit. 2.
