WSSU s new Password Management portal provides a convenient means for students, faculty, and staff to reset your Active Directory password or unlock your account (Active Directory accounts are used to log into campus Windows PCs, WSSU Email, and other non Banner systems). Before you can begin using the WSSU Password Management portal, you must first log in to it using your current WSSU credentials and provide answers to security questions as well as optionally provide your mobile phone number. The mobile phone number, should you choose to provide it, is used to receive what is known as a One Time Password (OTP) that identifies you in order to unlock your account or change your password. The instructions below show you what you need to do: Getting Started Registering Answers to Your Security Questions (Required) and Cell Phone (Optional) 1. You can access the WSSU Password Management portal by typing https://pw.wssu.edu into any browser. 2. Enter your username and current WSSU password and click <Login>.
3. Verify your username and password and click <Continue>. As the screenshot indicates, you may skip Security Questions enrollment up to 3 times before it becomes mandatory.
4. The security questions will then be presented to you and are used in the event you forget your password or need to unlock your account. You will be presented a total of 7 questions on two screens. You will need to answer at least 3 of the questions. Provide answers to whichever questions you wish. Use the << and >> buttons to cycle between questions 1 5 and 6 7. After answering at least 3 questions the <Continue> button will appear. Click <Continue> to proceed to the next step in registration.
5. Once you have completed 3 out of the 7 questions and clicked <Continue> you will receive the message Answers Saved. Click the link Click here to continue. for the next step in the registration process.
6. After successfully registering your security questions, you will be prompted to provide your mobile phone number and provider. Providing your mobile phone number will allow you to receive a one time passcode (OTP) to unlock your account or change your password. This step is optional. If you do not wish to register your mobile phone number, you may select Don t enroll mobile phone and then click Skip. You will not be prompted to register your phone again, but you can choose to provide the information later on your Account Management page. If you wish to register your mobile phone, then enter the number and select the provider from the drop down. Click <Continue>. You will quickly receive a text message with a one time password (OTP) on the mobile phone number you provided for verification.
7. If you don t receive the text with your password within 10 15 seconds, check the cell phone number you entered by clicking the link Problems with the OTP? Upon receipt of temporary password, enter it in the One Time Password field and click <Continue>.
8. If you entered the correct phone number and correct one time password you will receive the message Answers Saved. Click the link Click here to continue.
9. After successfully enrolling you will see the Account Management home page. You can log in any time and update this information as needed. If you have finished updating your information, click the Log Out link. Congratulations! You are now enrolled in the WSSU Password Management Portal. To unlock your account or change your forgotten password, visit https://pw.wssu.edu and select your desired option and follow the prompts. <End of document>
