Once logged into your personal account, you can save and organize your advance search results, add articles to your favourites for reading/reference later, track citation data, sign up for new content and article citation alerts, etc. To create your custom user experience simply begin on the PTC homepage and choose an issue or article by clicking: Ahead of Print (articles available ahead of publication within a new issue) Current Issue All Issues (all available content organized by issue and date of publication) Most Read (listing of most read PTC content) Or enter a search in the search box 4

3. Choose Full text or PDF to read articles PTC Online allows users to read PTC articles in either full text html or pdf formats. Simply choose your desired version by clicking the appropriate tab below the article title. While reading, all links and references are live linked, simply click on them to access the reference information or go to that link. 4. Reader tools Use the Bookmark and Share tools box in the right navigation to email, share via social media and browser bookmark article links as well as print full or specific pages of an article. Use the Article Tools box in the right navigation to add an article to favorites, email article link, send citation information to citation manager for use later or track citations. Use Related Content Search to find related content and further your research/reading interests. 5

5. Search functions PTC Online offers readers advance search functionality. To begin, simply enter your search in the search box. You search results will appear and advanced searching or filters can then be applied. You can also modify or save your search by using the Filter Your Results, Modify Your Search or Save Your Search tool boxes in the right navigation. To delve further into your search query, click advance search to the right of the search box. Search Tips Boolean searches You can use the Boolean Operators AND, OR and NOT within search fields. By default an AND relationship is assumed between search terms unless another operator is specified. Searching for authors To search for multiple authors, separate each author name with either AND or OR. Using AND will search for content that has been co-authored by the authors. Using OR will search for content that has been authored by either of the authors. 6

Searching for phrases Enclose your search term with quotation marks to search for an exact match of that phrase. Without quotation marks, articles including all of the search terms somewhere in the article will be listed. For example searching for rehabilitation will find articles containing that exact phrase. Wildcards Use a question mark (?) in a search term to represent any one character and use an asterisk (*) to represent zero or more characters. Wildcards cannot be used at the start of a search term or when searching for phrases in quotes. For example, searching for Europe* will find results containing Europe and European. 6. Personal settings and account To review your personal settings, content and citation alerts, saved searches and bookmarked content, simply click Welcome, your user name at the top right corner of the screen. This account settings screen is where you can access your personal account login information, manage your new content alerts (full issue or Ahead of Print articles), access your saved searches and favorited articles. Still have questions or need more help? Please contact ptc@utpress.utoronto.ca for assistance. 7
