Run the UNINST.EXE program from the driver folder (from Step 4, above) on the CD and reboot the PC. 6

Troubleshooting Q) The device shows correctly in device manager, and the ports are listed as above, but I still cannot print. Why? A) If things still are not working, you may have to use a generic Windows printer driver instead of the driver provided with the printer. The printer manufacturer's driver was only designed to communicate with the printer via the parallel port. To use a Windows driver, select Add Printer, and follow the wizard. You should find your printer on the list. Do not insert the disk/cd from the printer manufacturer. If your model is not listed, choose the printer that is the closest match to your printer. Most printers can emulate older models. Check your printer documentation to determine which models your printer supports. Another option is to check with your printer manufacturer to see if they offer a USB printer driver for your model. Q) I plug in the cable and all I get is Unknown Device. What do I do now? This usually occurs on a computer with low-powered USB ports, such as the Dell Inspiron and Compaq EVO models (also others). To get USB devices to work on such a system, you will need to add a powered USB hub--one with its own power supply. This will ensure that the port that the adapter connects to will provide sufficient power for the device to operate correctly. 7
