From Shanghai Pudong International Airport About 60mins by taxi from the Pudong airport to the conference hotel. Price can range from $26 USD to $33 USD (160-200 CNY, no tip). By the Airport Shuttle Bus, the Line 5, please get off at the Shanghai Railway Station and then take a taxi to the conference hotel. The taxi cost is about 20 CNY, no tip. Final Scientific Program: The final program schedule will be released online no later than July 15 th. You may check it on the conference website: http://www.bitcongress.com/wcm2015/programlayout.asp. There will be some changes in the program schedule, please carefully check your speech time and information. If you cannot open the website, please contact with Iris@wcm-bitcongress.com to get the final program after July 15. Conferences in China: Visa Foreign attendees will need to apply for visa by themselves usually. Please check with your local China consulate or embassy or travel agency to find out the earliest possible application date. Meanwhile, we strongly advise the foreign attendees to apply for the Tourist Visa instead of Business Visa in view of the adjustments for visa application to China, which is more accessible. We apologies for any inconvenience this may caused to you. P.S. The Hotel Reservation Confirmation may be necessary for the Tourist Visa application. Please let us know your visa process and send back your e-ticket with your definite itinerary form before July 7 th when determined, and then we ll arrange related conference details accordingly! Weather According to the weather forecasting: the average temperature during the period of conference is around 29, it is advised to wear single layer clothes like T-shirt, skirt, thin jacket and necessary sun protection stuff. Currency The official currency is the RMB (CNY) or Yuan. Chinese money cannot be exported. Travelers checks and major credit cards are accepted (VISA, MASTERCARD) and foreign currency can be converted in airport, hotels, in stores and in subsidiaries of the Bank of China. The working hour of most foreign exchange centre is: 08:30-16:30. You are advised to exchange some RMB for your bus/taxi fares before your departure. The
exchange rate between U.S. dollar and RMB Yuan is approximately at 1: 6.12 Please check for further updates. Usually, $800-1000 would be enough for your transportation fees. Though major credit cards are accepted at big stores and ATMs, cash is still more widely used. Electricity A variety of electrical outlets can be found in China and an all-around adaptor set is recommended. Voltage in China is 220V 50Hz. If you will need to use an adapter, please be sure to use an appropriate transformer as well. Mobile Phone Network Cell phones are widely used in China with networks of GSM (800 MHz, 900 MHz & 1800 MHz) and CDMA. Working Language The working language of this conference is English, therefore, simultaneous interpretation will not be provided. Local Time A. Time Difference China is in one time zone Beijing Time (GMT+ 8 hours). B. Working Hours Most business organizations are open at 09:00~18:00, government departments at 08:00~17:00, and banks at 09:00~17:00. Working week runs from Monday to Friday. Many stores stay open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. Insurance policy It is advised to have insurance to cover sickness and other possible traveling problems. For hospitalization in China, you may have to pay first and then claim it back from your insurance company. Please show your invitation letter or confirmation letter to the onsite service staff, they will give you the conference proceedings, your name badge, conference schedule, special events arrangements. Certificate: You can ask the certificate from the registration desk on 1 st and 2 nd of August; you could also get the scanned version by writing to the coordinator. Presentation Uploading Tips: Please upload your presentation directly in the conference room 15 minutes before the start of the session. Memory Stick or USB is preferred in the conference. You can also use your own laptop for the presentation, please make sure you bring the proper adaptor for the projector if you will use the Mac. Equipment in the conference room: Laptop (Office 2010), Projector, Screen, Laser pointer Speaking Time: Speaking time should be strictly controlled by the chairman of the session as the schedule. Accommodation Tips:
Deposit: Your hotel accommodation fee is covered and prepaid by the conference; however the hotel will still pre-charge you 1000 RMB as the deposit due to the law of China. The deposit is for the damage of the hotel room and your extra charge in the hotel, the hotel will give back this amount of money to you when you check out. Adaptors: Please make sure you have brought the proper adaptor for your cell phone and your laptop in China. Posters: You can give your poster to our workers when registration.
