This application lets you memorize the Program Change settings for respective Songs and transmit them to the MIDI instrument from your ipad. By creating a Set List, you can easily control the Program Change settings of the MIDI instrument, to correspond to the songs in your live performance. Utility window Set List Organizer Main display For controlling the Program Change settings of the MIDI instrument. By using MIDI cables and a Yamaha i-mx1, connect the instrument to an ipad. The MOTIF XF can be connected via wireless Network MIDI. Creating a Set List 1. Create a new empty Set List. On the Main display, tap the Set List name to call up the Set List table. On this table, add the new empty Set List. For details, refer to the Main display. 3. Add a Song to the Set List selected in Step 2. Tap [LIST EDIT] to call up the Set List Edit window. Add the Song to this table. For details, refer to the Set List Edit window. 2. On the Main display, select the Set List created in Step 1. 4. Make the Program Change settings for the Song added in Step 3. Tap [PGM] of the selected Song to call up the Program Change Edit window, then make the desired settings. For details, refer to the Program Change Edit window. Set List Organizer Owner s Manual 2

Controlling the Program Change settings of the MIDI instrument 1. Select the desired Set. On the Main display, select the Set List created in the previous page. 2. Control the Program Change settings from the ipad during your Performance. On the Main display, tap the desired Program Change button of the corresponding Song to change the Voice of the MIDI instrument. You can also conveniently make notes to help you remember which Voices were assigned to the Program Change buttons. To do this, select a Song on the Main display, and tap [TEXT EDIT] to call up the Text Edit display. For details, refer to the Text Edit display. Set List Organizer Owner s Manual 3

Title bar and Utility window Title bar Utility window Each lamp flashes according to the MIDI in/out messages. Tapping this opens or closes the Utility window. Determines the connection method between the ipad and MIDI instrument. cable: Should be selected when connected via the i-mx1. wireless: Should be selected when connected via wireless Network MIDI. When set to wireless, make the Wi-Fi setup in Settings > Wi-Fi in your ipad. Lets you transmit the Set List data via e-mail. Picture data in the memos of the Set List are omitted when sending via e-mail. Selects the MIDI port of the instrument in case of wireless connection. Lets you transmit/receive the Set List data to/from another Set List Organizer which is running on a neighboring ipad. Tap this button on both ipads. Tapping this calls up the Owner s Manual Tapping here initializes all the settings. Indicates the program version. Set List Organizer Owner s Manual 4

Main display The Main display lets you control the Program Change settings of the MIDI instrument. This display features two view types: Song List view and Song Text view. Tapping [-] or [+] selects the Set List. Tapping the Set List name calls up the Set List table described on the next page. Song List view Indicates that this number is selected. You can change the Song by tapping any number. Song Number and Song Name LINK Indicator In this case, [1] and [2] are linked; in other words, tapping either [1] or [2] transmits the Program Change numbers memorized to both buttons. The Link can be set in the Program Edit display. Calls up the Program Change Edit window of the corresponding Song. On that window, you can assign the desired Program Change number to each number button. Tapping one of the Program Change buttons transmits the memorized Program Change number to the instrument. Tapping the gray colored button transmits nothing. Calls up the Text Edit display which lets you input or edit text for the currently selected Song. Changes the Song. Calls up the Set List Edit window which lets you change the Song name and order, as well as add/ delete Songs to/from the current Set List. Song List view Calls up the Song Text view of the currently selected Song. Extends the viewing area of Set List, increasing the number of visible Songs. Set List Organizer Owner s Manual 5

Song List view Tapping the Set List Name calls up the Set List table. Set List table Closes the table. Adds the Set List to the table. Deletes each of the Set Lists. Song Text view Calls up the Song Text view of the currently selected Song. Tap here to lock the memo display. This is useful when you want to have the same memo shown, even when changing the Song. Tap here again to unlock. Calls up the Rename window. Sliding here changes the order of the Set List. By pinning the Program Change button marker icon, you can jump to the desired location by tapping the corresponding Program Change button. This function is convenient when the memo is long. To pin the marker icon: Hold the Program Change button for a while to call up the marker icon, then drag the icon to the desired location. To move the marker icon: Hold the icon for a while to call up X at the above left, then drag the icon to the desired location. To delete the marker icon: Hold the icon for a while to call up X at the above left, then tap X to delete the icon. Shows your text memo input on the Text Edit display. Text Edit display This display is called up via [TEXT EDIT], letting you input or edit text memos for information about the currently selected Song. Selects the font type, size and color. Changes the bar. Selects the background picture. Shows characters you input via the on-screen keyboard. This on-screen keyboard lets you input or edit text. Closes the display. Pins the picture data of the ipad to the memo. Lets you take photos then stick them to the memo. This is shown only on an ipad that supports the camera function. Holding the stuck picture will show X. In this situation, you can apply the following operations to the picture. Delete Tap X. Size Change Pinch in or out the picture. Rotate Touch the picture with two fingers and rotate them to the desired direction. Move Touch the picture again and drag to the location you want to pin it to. Up to 30 pictures data can be stuck to a memo. Set List Organizer Owner s Manual 7

Set List Edit window This window lets you change the Song name and order, as well as add/delete Songs to/from the current Set List. Adds Songs to the Set List. Up to thirty Songs can be added. Deletes each of the Songs in response to the confirmation window. Closes the window. Sliding here changes the order of the Song. The order set here is applied to the Song List view. Calls up the Rename window with on-screen keyboard. Set List Organizer Owner s Manual 8

Program Change Edit window This window lets you assign the Program Change setting including MIDI channel, Bank Select and the volume value to each Program Change button. To change the tempo, tap the Tempo value to call up the slider, and then operate the slider, or tap [TAP] three times at the desired tempo. Tapping [-]/[+] changes the value in single steps. When set to ON, MIDI clock data is transmitted according to the TEMPO setting. Closes the window. TEMPO and CLOCK are not shown when the MIDI Type is set to wireless. Program Change ON/OFF button When set to ON, the corresponding Program Change button becomes available. When set to OFF, the corresponding Program Change button becomes gray, indicating it is unavailable. What is the Link function? This convenient function lets you transmit two or more Program Change numbers simultaneously by simply tapping just one of the buttons. To set LINK: Tap the LINK indicators of the desired buttons. To use LINK: In the Main display, tap one of the Program Change buttons which have been linked. Equivalent to the Program Change button number on the Main display. Indicates the MIDI channel, Bank Select MSB, Bank Select LSB and Program Change. Tapping this area calls up the window for setting the value. If you want to make the settings simply and quickly, this [LEARN] button is useful. Tap [LEARN] (the button starts flashing), then transmit the Program Change messages from the MIDI instrument. The received MIDI messages will be assigned to the corresponding Program Change button. Tapping this While flashing cancels the Learn status. Adjusts the volume of the Voice specified via the Program Change. The volume can be adjusted by operating the knob, or by tapping the value to call up the slider for changing the value. Volume ON/OFF button When set to ON, tapping the Program Change button transmits the volume value, and doesn t transmit when set to OFF.
