Induction Training for Learning Mentors and other level 3/4 children s workforce support staff The CWDC induction training programme has been developed from the National Training for Learning Mentors and is now available to the wider Children s Workforce. The training will: Support new and recently appointed practitioners working directly with children, young people and/or their families as they move into their role. It supports them in developing their knowledge, understanding and practice in their role and broader working context. Directly support, at this level, the Children s Workforce Development Council s Induction Standards for Children s Workforce staff. When used as part of a broader induction process, the programme will help employers to meet their responsibilities to deliver induction, training and opportunities. When a worker has successfully completed the programme, s/he will have ensured initial compliance with the Common Core of Skills and Knowledge for the Children s Workforce at beginning level, appropriate to their level of work. Within Dudley we have the opportunity to run a pilot programme; the 4 generic modules will take place over 5 days to enable the local context to be fully explored. Delegates who take part in the pilot will be involved in shaping future programmes. Programme 1.
