INSPIRED BY MOVE The New Evolution Series Products 100% LOW-FLOOR TRAMS WITH SWIVELING BOGIES EN 14001 : 2004 ISO www.skoda.cz

100% LOW-FLOOR TRAMS WITH SWIVELING BOGIES TRANSPORTATION 100% LOW FLOOR Quick and easy movement when getting on and off the vehicle Barrier free access for wheelchairs, strollers and bicycles 100% SWIVELING BOGIES High-quality negotiation of both straight and curved tracks Low wear and tear of wheels and rails BOGIE CONSIDERATE TO RAILS AS MUCH AS 100% ADHESION/ MOTORIZATION EASY MAINTENANCE HIGHLY VARI- ABLE SPACE Swiveling bogies: Low axle load Low wear and tear of wheel flanges Reduced maintenance costs Optimum steering of each wheel Reduced costs of vehicle maintenance Reduced costs of infrastructure maintenance Enables optional arrangement of seats and areas designated for wheelchairs, strollers and bicycles

LOW NOISE LEVEL No transmissions Low engine speed Water cooling HIGH MODULARITY Standardized & Customized solutions. The vehicle concept and design enable a wide modularity of length, width, gauge, number of seats, supply voltage, etc. FAST AND EASY PASSENGER EXCHANGE High number and optimal layout of doors www.skoda.cz

100% LOW-FLOOR TRAMS WITH SWIVELING BOGIES TRANSPORTATION The New Evolution Series Products CUSTOMIZABLE INTERIOR PASSENGER AREA WITH SUPERIOR PASSENGER-COMFORT The vehicle is designed to meet the latest requirements of modern transportation and to provide passengers with a comfortable ride. The 100% low floor of the passenger area enables easy on and off & passenger exchange. The vehicle is equipped with a sufficient number of doors, enabling fast passenger exchange, thus reducing the time spent at tram stops. The interior environmental comfort in the vehicle is provided by a high-performance sub-seat heating system and roof ventilation with a fresh air heating option. Optional high-performance air-conditioning system. Customizable Passenger Information System and Wi-Fi. The passenger area can also be monitored by video-cameras with a recording function. REDUCED-MOBILITY PASSENGER COMFORT Thanks to the 100% low floor, the vehicle also enables easy boarding and movement within the vehicle for reduced-mobility passengers. The vehicle allows customizable wheelchair and stroller area. The vehicle can be equipped with a system for communication with blind passengers in order to facilitate their boarding and orientation within the vehicle.

INSPIRED BY MOVE STATE-OF-THE-ART AND RELIABLE ELECTRIC EQUIPMENT The electrical equipment containers are located on the vehicle roof so that their assembly and disassembly are feasible with normally available shop equipment. The traction equipment consists of the trolley collector, input circuits, IGBT traction converters, traction engines, static converters for auxiliary circuit supplying and a battery with a charger. The vehicle is equipped with a system that automatically adjusts the vehicle behavior based on the vehicle occupancy, gradient and directional conditions of the track. DRIVES The vehicle drive consists of the traction drive units. Each traction drive unit contains a traction container with IGBT converters, which is located on the vehicle roof, and four traction engines driving the wheels of one traction bogie. The individual drive of the individual wheels of the respective bogie ensures perfect utilization of the adhesion conditions and optimized negotiation of both straight and curved tracks. The engines are three-phase synchronous engines with permanent magnets on the rotor and are fixed on the bogie frame from outside the wheel. Thanks to the high torque, the traction engines do not need transmission, as they are driving the tram wheels directly via the mechanically engaging gear clutch. The drive is controlled by two control units which are interconnected by fast-acting serial communication. The control units communicate with the other devices, except for the container, via CAN communication, or via the logical inputs and outputs. The safety circuits and functions are provided by hardware.

100% LOW-FLOOR TRAMS WITH SWIVELING BOGIES TRANSPORTATION DRIVER COMFORT AND THE LATEST CONTROL EQUIPMENT The driver s cabin separated from the passenger compartment fully meets the modern requirements for safe and comfortable control of the vehicle. The ergonomically designed control panel provides the driver with the maximum overview of the vehicle function, as well as with comfortable access to all control elements. The comfortable, pneumatically sprung seat enables perfect adaptation for drivers of any height. Electrically heated front or even side windows and rear-view mirrors provide the driver with safe views under all circumstances. The environmental comfort of the driver is ensured by the airconditioning unit. There are separate doors for the driver to get on and off, located on the right-hand side of the vehicle. Besides, the driver can directly enter the passenger compartment using the glazed door located in the rear wall of the cabin. INFORMATION AND CAMERA SYSTEM The electronic computer-controlled information system of the vehicle is equipped with devices for passenger information both inside and outside the vehicle. The information system is also suitable for disabled persons, deaf and blind persons. There are video-monitors installed in the driver s cabin that enable the driver to monitor the course of events inside or outside the vehicle and have sufficient overview of the general situation. INSPIRED BY MOVE BRAKES Most of the brake power is exerted by the electrodynamic brake. The traction equipment enables recuperation of the braking energy back to the mains. If the energy cannot be absorbed by the traction mains during the braking process, in other words, if the recuperation is not desired, a portion of it is preferably used for supplying the auxiliary appliances installed in the vehicle and a portion of it is wasted in the brake resistor. The electrodynamic brake is automatically able to work even in case of the trolley voltage outage. In emergency, the entire braking work is automatically taken over by the friction disk brake system until the vehicle completely stops. The friction disk brake also works as a parking brake. The friction brake is automatically controlled with the electrical pressure unit. Every bogie is equipped with a pair of electromagnetic rail brakes with a voltage of 24 VDC. WHEELS All bogies are equipped with identical wheels which have rims fitted with dampening rubber inserts, designed for the noise attenuation. Selected bogies are equipped with a sanding system. DOORS The vehicle is equipped with six exterior sliding double-wing doors for passengers (two in each section) and one separate driver s door on the righthand side in the driving direction. Each door is equipped with its own control unit that controls the door operation and communication with the vehicle central control unit. There is an option to integrate a ramp or elevator in the area of the double-wing door to facilitate boarding and departure of disabled persons. There is also an option to make an area designated for transportation of bicycles and strollers beside chosen doors.
