If you are a UK taxpayer, SOS Children s Villages UK can reclaim the tax you have paid on your donations. This increases your gift by nearly a third at no extra cost to you. All you have to do is tick the box on the order form. For your donations to qualify for Gift Aid, you must pay an amount of income tax or capital gains tax equal to the tax we reclaim on your donations ( 2.80 for every 10 you donate). Alternative Christmas Gifts Would you like to give a present this Christmas that will help change lives? By giving one of our Alternative Gifts, you can help us provide a new family, education and healthcare to orphaned and abandoned children at our SOS Children s Village Basse in The Gambia. The SOS Village is made up of 12 family houses that provide a home for more than a hundred vulnerable children, many of whose mothers died during childbirth. Here the children have found the love and security of a new SOS mum and family, are able to attend the SOS Schools and receive all the medical care they need. The SOS schools are also available to children from the local community where educational services are extremely basic. By sending one of our Alternative Christmas Gifts, you can help us to provide children in The Gambia with a safe and secure childhood and a future. Your donation will go towards supporting the SOS Children s Village Basse. The examples shown below give an idea of the impact your gift will make: 19 7 could provide a child s school fees and school materials for a month. 21 25 living in the SOS Village. could provide food and clean water for a month for a child 20 15 could pay for a month s transport to the SOS School for a child living in the local community. 200 could cover medical costs for all the children and staff living at the SOS Children s Village Basse for one month. 22 HOW IT WORKS: For each of the Alternative Gifts that you select, we will send you a Gift Card to give, with the picture shown above and details of how this gift will support the SOS Children s Village Basse.
Sponsorship If you are looking for a unique gift you might like to consider sponsoring a child or a Village. Whether you prefer to sponsor an SOS child or an SOS Children s Village, your money will help us make a big difference to orphaned and abandoned children. But your support isn t just about money. It can be a very special feeling for the child or Village that you re helping to know that someone, even on the other side of the world, is thinking about them and cares for their well-being.
