Lesson times 1, 2, 3 Monday Friday, 8:30 a.m. 1:00 p.m. or 1:30 6:00 p.m. You ll learn in a group for approx. four weeks, either in a morning or afternoon course, depending on the institute you choose and the course level. There are 12 possible starting dates spread over the entire year. This will enable you to develop your language skills and combine any number of courses to create a systematic language-learning program. At the start of your course we will ask you about your individual learning goals and follow up with ongoing support during the learning process. This results in tight integration of the classroom lessons, selfstudy activities and practice. At all levels you also have the option of taking one of our examinations, which are recognized around the world. Our German in the evening evening-time German courses offer you efficient language training with plenty of variety as well as qualified level placement and advice. In communicative lessons geared to the target group, you will get practice in all of the skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking. There is a strong focus on the language skills needed for real-world situations. At the institute, you will learn in modern, well-equipped classrooms and will have full access to a media resource center, including an extensive collection of practice materials. The German in the evening courses are based on the Common European Framework for Languages, and each course builds on the content of the previous one. You can decide on the balance between basic German language skills (reading, listening, speaking, writing, structures) and specialized language from the world of business, politics, law, medicine or another area selected by you. We ll also be happy to prepare you for presentations or exams and develop your communication skills. SPECIAL COURSES FOR PROFESSIONALS GERMAN COMMUNICATION TRAINING FOR DOCTORS Please enquire This communication training course is intended for doctors. This is the course for you if you have been working for some time in Germany or are about to begin a residency to train as a specialist at a German hospital. The focus is on communication skills and intercultural competency as key requirements for working effectively in the field of medicine. Doctor-patient communication as well as interactions between medical colleagues are explored and practised in various scenarios. You will learn medical and pharmaceutical terminology, the everyday German terms for symptoms and anatomy, various forms of clinical documentation and the correct way to write a doctor s letter. We will practice patient interviews with you, for example for case histories and examinations. Other topics include the German health care system, clinical structures, patient and case presentations and equipment diagnostics.
