Important information You have 180 minutes to solve the practical exercises. Devices allowed for the exam: computer assigned to the candidate, paper, pen, pencil, ruler, sealed notepaper. You can take notes on the internal sides of the exercise sheet and the notepaper, these should be submitted at the end of the exam but their content will not be evaluated. The exercises can be solved in any order. Please pay attention to frequent saving (every 10 minutes); it is suggested that you save your work every time you start a new exercise. You should save your exam work in the exam directory that corresponds with your name. Check that this directory is accessible; if it is not accessible, notify the supervising teacher at the beginning of the exam. Save your works in the exam directory and at the end of the exam check that every solution is in the given directory because only those solutions can be evaluated. Check that the files to be submitted are readable because files that can not be opened can not be evaluated. The source files can be found in the exam directory. It is suggested that you read through the exercises first, then solve the individual exercise parts one by one. If your computer has technical problems, indicate it to the supervising teacher. The fact of indication and the observed problem will be recorded. The lost time will be added to the duration of the exam. If the problem is not of computer nature, the correcting teacher should take the description of the case in the record into consideration. 1. Recipe A magazine wishes to start a new series of recipes. This requires designs to be made. The recipes will be on bindable A5-sized sheets. Create the recipe page for Palóc soup based on the example and the sources. Use the following files while working on the exercise: paloc.jpg, leves.txt. Save your work as palocleves in the default format of the word processor. 1. The size of the recipe sheet should be A5, set its margins (top, bottom, right and left) to 0.6 cm. 2. Use four colours on the recipe sheet: brick red, salmon, yellow and white. The uses of these colours are shown by the following table: Brick red RGB (200, 70, 36) Background colour Salmon RGB (252, 147, 99) Fill colour of the inner shape Fill colour of the circles Colour of the page border Yellow RGB (255, 255, 0) Font colour White RGB (255, 255, 255) Border colour of the inner shape Line colour of the circles 3. Set the background colour according to the contents of the table. (It is also acceptable if you only set the background colour of the area bordered by the margins.) 4. Set a border around the page whose colour is as given in the table and whose width is between 1 and 2 points. 5. Draw the inner rectangle using the word processor. The height of the shape is 17.5 cm, its width is 11 cm. Its border is 1.5 points and its colour is as given in the table. Position the shape on the page so that it is 1.9 cm from the left margin and 1.6 cm from the top margin. 6. The text of the recipe is located in the file leves.txt. Insert the name of the food into the place shown in the example. Set its font size to 14 points and align it centered. Set a spacing of 12 points (0.42 cm) before the paragraph. 7. Use font sizes of 12 and 10 points in the text of the recipe. The font type should be Times New Roman or Nimbus Roman everywhere. 8. Set spacing for texts Ingredients and Preparation to separate them from the rest of the text. Set underlining for these texts. 9. In the list of ingredients replace the semicolons with end of paragraph marks. Indent each paragraph by 0.3 cm and set character spacing expanded by 0.5 points. 10. Align the part containing the instructions for the food preparation justified. 11. Separate the paragraphs containing the energy value and the preparation time from the rest of the text by a spacing of 12 points (0.42 cm). 12. Insert picture paloc.jpg into the recipe, reduce its size to 60% of the original size keeping the aspect ratio. Position the picture so that it is 10 cm from the left side of the page and 2.5 cm from the top of the page. 13. Create two small circles with the given colours. The diameter of the circles should be 0.55 cm. 14. Type in and format the word Soups above the top circle according to the example. Set the font size to 18 points and the font style to small caps. 2. Sensation, perception Our senses cheat us many times. Here you have to solve an exercise connected to sensory illusion. In the exercise you have to work with the following files: vonalak.gif, serleg.gif, hermann.jpg. 1. Create picture hering.gif shown in the example from file vonalak.gif through reflection and copying. Do not change the dimensions of the picture. 2. The colour of the two horizontal lines in the picture should be red. Do not forget to save the created picture into file hering.gif. 3. Create the pictures shown in the following figures in size 200 180 pixels from file serleg.gif through filling. 4. Use black colour for filling. Save the picture created according to the left figure as rubin1.jpg and the picture created according to the right figure as rubin2.jpg. Create a presentation using the created pictures. 5. Create a presentation of 4 slides and save it as erzekel in the default format of the presentation program. The background colour of the slides should be light brown, colour with RGB code (234, 163, 84) and the colour of the text appearing on the slides should be white, colour with RGB code (255, 255, 255). 6. On the first slide, type in text Sensation, perception as the title of the presentation. 7. On the following slides use the following arrangement: the font size of the slide title should be 42 points, place the picture under it aligned centered on the slide. The text box under the picture and the text it contains should be aligned centered, the font size of the text should be 28 points. 8. On the second slide, type in text Lateral inhibition: Hermann grid as title. Insert picture hermann.jpg into the slide. Align the picture according to the instructions. 9. The text appearing under the picture should be Count how many black points you see in the picture 10. The title of the third slide should be Hering lines. Display picture hering.gif under the title. 3. Railway history The attached file vasuttort.txt is about the beginnings of the formation of the Hungarian railway network, the golden age of the steam railway. Use pictures lovasut.jpg and mozd1846.jpg for the solution of the exercise. 1. Create a web page with name vasuttort.html. The background colour of the page is silver (colour with code #C0C0C0) and the text colour is maroon (colour with code #800000). 2. Display the text of file vasuttort.txt on the web page. Create and/or remove the unnecessary paragraphs if required and align the text to the left. 3. The style of the first paragraph, The century of the railway should be Heading 1 aligned centered. The title appearing in the header of the browser should be the same. 4. Create the second paragraph according to the example, using line breaks. The link should lead to the quoted web page. 5. The text contains three chapters. The chapter titles are The first steps, Kossuth and Széchenyi for transportation and The golden age of the steam engine. Let the style of these titles be Heading 2. 6. 4. Population In the following exercise you have to work with demographic data. The term demographic data means the number of males and females as well as live births and deaths. The table contains the data related to the change of the Hungarian population from 1950 to 2004. The data for the given period are located in file nepesseg.txt tagged by tabs. Import the data into the spreadsheet processor and save your work as nepvaltozas in the default format of the spreadsheet processor. During the solution take the followings into consideration. Whenever possible, use a formula or function in the solution. There are parts in the exercise that use the results from a previous question. If you could not solve the previous part completely, use its solution as it is, or instead of a formula resulting in a number use 100 000 and work on with this value. If required, you can perform auxiliary calculations to the right of column N. 1. Insert a column before column Live births. Type text Total population into the first cell of the column and calculate the population in the following cells. 2. After column Deaths (column G), type in text Natural increase, decrease. In cells G2:G56 calculate the difference of the number of live births and deaths. 3. Type in texts Live births per one thousand capita and Deaths per one thousand capita into cells H1 and I1, respectively. Determine the number of live births per one thousand capita in cells H2:H56. Similarly, determine the number of deaths per one thousand capita in cells I2:I56. For each calculation, round the obtained values to two decimal figures using a function. 4. In cells K2:K56, calculate the percentage of males compared to the whole population. In cells L2:L56, calculate the percentage of females compared to the whole population. Display the calculated values in percentage format with two decimal figures. 5. Create the following auxiliary table in range B59:G64. Type the texts displayed in the example into cells B59, B60, B61, B63 and B64 and merge the cells in each row from column B to F. Align the texts to the left. 6. In cell G59, give the number of years when population decreased based on the annual data using a function. (The population decreases if the number of deaths is greater than the number of live births.) 7. Determine the year when natural decrease was the greatest using a function. Display the obtained year in cell G60. 8. If the number entered into cell G63 is not between 1950 and 2004 then display text No data in cell G64. 10. Format the table according to the example. While setting the borders, use double line at the bottom of the first row and use a thick vertical line between columns G and H. Set thousands separation for the numbers. The calculated fields should be in italics and green. 11. Create a column chart that displays the number of live births and deaths in the last ten years. The chart should not have a background colour. Display the number of deaths in black and the number of live births in red. The title of the chart should be Deaths and births 1995-2004. 5. Water level The water level of rivers has been measured regularly for centuries. The following database contains the water levels measured on rivers Duna and Tisza between 2000 and 2004. 1. Create a new database with name vizallas. Import the provided file viz.txt tagged by tabs into the database as meres. The first line of the file contains the field names. Add a unique identifier with name id to table meres. When creating the table, set the correct types and the key. Table: meres (datum, vizallas, varos, folyo) id The identifier of the measurement (autonumber), this is the key datum The date of the measurement (date) vizallas The measured value in cm unit (number) varos The settlement where the water level was measured (string) folyo The name of the river where the water level was measured (string) When solving the following exercises, save the queries and the report with the name given in brackets. Pay attention to the queries containing exactly the required fields. 2. Using a query, give the water levels measured at the different settlements on the last day of 2002 (2002.12.31.)
