CYLINDER BLOCKING SYSTEM CBS Safety valve The revolutionary and patented Cylinder Blocking System (CBS) is a dedicated safety device, designed and manufactured by a hoist manufacturer, to operate in conjunction with tipping hoists. It offers unparalleled protection for personnel from the dangers of falling tipper bodies. Hose failures are a reality, capable of causing serious injury or even death. In the event of a sudden drop in system pressure, CBS will prevent tipping hoist closure, protecting vehicles and operator alike from the dangers of a violently dropping body. Australian Standard AS1418.8 requires that a tip truck be fi tted with a safety device to protect against the effects of failure of a hose in any support circuit on a hoisting system. CYLINDER BLOCKING SYSTEM CBS OPERATION The CBS system is compact, quickly and easily installed, and can be fi tted directly onto the hoist port with the body in position. Its automatic function is indiscernible to the operator and is fail safe. The valve does not rely on sensing a hose failure, but rather must be operational in order for the hoist to lower. SAFETIP How SAFETIP works SAFETIP continuously monitors a tipper s horizontal condition and alerts the operator when the lateral angle exceeds a programmed safe tipping range. If warnings are ignored, SAFETIP prevents the trailer from tipping further until it is again within the safe tipping range.
