Quest Soft Token for Windows Mobile User Guide This guide provides information on installing, activating and using the Quest Windows Mobile Token. What is the Quest Soft Token for Windows Mobile The Quest Soft Token for Windows Mobile is a two-factor authentication token that can be used with any OATH-compliant authentication server, such as Quest Defender, to gain secure access to network, web, and applications-based resources. The Quest Soft Token for Windows Mobile is available from the Quest web site at http://www.quest.com/defender/windows Mobiletoken.aspx.
Installing the Quest Soft Token for Windows Mobile Before you can activate the Token on your Windows Mobile/iPaq device, you must install the Windows Mobile/iPaq Software. Download the latest version of the Windows Mobile Token Software from the Defender product pages on the Quest SupportLink site, then perform the following steps: 1. Connect your Windows Mobile/iPaq device to your PC and place it in the cradle with Microsoft ActivSync running. On your PC, the ActivSync dialog box displays Connected. 2. From your PC, run either setup.exe, or Defender Windows Mobile Token Setup.msi, and follow the prompts. Figure 1: Defender Windows Mobile Token Wizard 3. Click Next. The Defender Windows Mobile Token (Select Installation Folder) page is displayed: Figure 2: Defender Windows Mobile Token (Select Installation Folder) page 2
4. Click Next to accept the default location. Alternatively, click Browse to choose a different location. 5. If you want the token software for your use only, click the Just me button. If you want the token to be available to anyone who uses this computer, click the Everyone button. 6. Click Next. The Defender Windows Mobile Token (Confirm Installation) page is displayed: Figure 3: Defender Windows Mobile Token (Confirm Installation) page 7. Click Next to start the installation: Figure 4: Defender Token (Installing Defender Token) page 8. On completion of the installation, click Next to continue. The Installing Applications dialog box is displayed. Select Yes to install the Defender Palm Token software into the default directory on your mobile device. Alternatively, click No to choose a different directory. The Application Downloading Complete dialog box is then displayed. 9. Perform any further steps that may be required by your mobile device to complete the installation. 3
Activating the Defender Token Using an activation key provided by your administrator 1. On your device, select Defender Token. 2. You are prompted to enter an Activation Key. Locate the Activation Key supplied to you by your Defender Administrator and enter it into the Activation Key field. 3. Click OK. 4. The Defender Token application is now ready to use. Using the Defender Token Deployment System The Defender Token Deployment System is a web based application that allows for the Quest Soft Token for Windows Mobile to be requested directly through a local web site. The activation code can be received by e-mail or a self-activating version of the token software can be downloaded. The Token Deployment System is an optional Defender component. For full instructions on using the Defender Token Deployment System please refer to the Defender Token Deployment System User Guide. These instructions refer to the token activation process only. 1. After choosing the Windows Mobile token from the Token Deployment System website and completing the verification process the Install and Activate Token web page is displayed. 4

This page provides the following a link to download the token software from the Windows Phone Marketplace this option should be used if your device is a Windows Phone a link to download the token software from http://www.quest.com/defender/windowsmobiletoken.aspx - this option should be used if your device is a Windows Mobile. the activation code, which can be copied and pasted to the Quest Soft Token for Windows Mobile Activation Key field on the device. An option to send these details to your e-mail address. DOWNLOAD TOKEN SOFTWARE Using this link will display the Windows Phone Marketplace allowing for the Quest Soft Token to be downloaded. DOWNLOAD TOKEN SOFTWARE The Quest Soft Token for Windows Mobile software can be downloaded from http://www.quest.com/defender/windowsmobiletoken.aspx. Using this link will download the Defender Windows Mobile Token Setup.msi and setup.exe installers. ACTIVATION CODE The activation code for your token can be copied and pasted in to the Activation Key field on the device. Please see the Using an Activation key provided by your administrator for details on this process. E-MAIL OPTION A link is provided to send the web page information to an e-mail address. By default this will be the e-mail address configured on your AD user account. Optionally your system administrator may allow the e-mail address to be changed so that the information can be sent to a different e-mail address. Select Send E-Mail to send the details, a confirmation will be displayed on the webpage that the e- mail has been sent. 5
Using the Token To use the Defender Token on your device: 1. Select the Defender Token application from the menu on your device. 2. A token response is displayed. 3. Enter this response at the authentication prompt. Deleting the Token To delete the Defender Token from your device and remove the Defender Token software from your PC: 1. Connect your device to your PC and place it in the cradle with Microsoft ActivSync running. On your PC, the ActivSync dialog box displays Con- nected. 2. From the Control Panel, select Add/Remove Programs. 3. Locate Defender Token in the list of applications, then click Remove. 4. The Microsoft ActivSync dialog box displays a list of applications. 5.
