III. TEACHING The Architecture Department of the Faculty of Civil Engineering provides an architectural education compatible with other European technical universities. The training of an architect needs to be comprehensive and includes technical, artistic, humanistic, special theoretical, and engineering disciplines. The architect is expected to have a general understanding of all aspects of building. His work is artistically creative and technically demanding. The courses also involve the design of different building types for residential, commercial, social, industrial, agricultural and transport facilities. An integral part of the education also involves the restoration of old buildings, the preservation of historical monuments, interior design, town planning and landscape design. The content and proportion of each subject is regulated in accordance with the requirements for education defined by EU Directive 1985/384 ECC.
