You have come to a Specialized University with new and modern facilities situated in beautiful surroundings. We hope that our study programmes together with the welfare offers of the Student Welfare Organization will give you a good and exciting time as a student. We aim at providing a learning environment enabling you to succeed as a student. This requires, however, that you get actively involved, not only in your own studies, and your academic achivements, but also try to collaborate closely with other Norwegian and international students as well as faculty staff members, who all will try to improve the study conditions. Molde University College - Specialized University in Logistics The main campus at Molde University College - Specialized University in Logistics (HiMolde), is located 3 km west of the city centre of Molde. Most of the students conduct their studies here. On campus you will find classrooms, auditoriums, study rooms for groups, library, a bookstore and two cafeterias. HiMolde also offers bachelor s programmes in Petroleum Logistics and Nursing at the campus in Kristiansund, and in International Logistics at Ålesund. Internet based student services At our home page www.himolde.no, students will have access to important information related to their studies. StudentWeb System for: Registration for courses for students at the Faculty ØIS Time and place for your exams, including room numbers Information about grades obtained Student information. Please make sure that your address and phone number are correctly listed at all times. KID-number and bank account number in order for the degree students to pay their semester fee. Degree students should only use the KID-number they have been allocated. International Exchange students (Erasmus etc.) do not have to pay the semester fee. Log on to Studentweb: www.himolde.no/studentweb The guide StudentWeb1-2-3 can be found on the login page. Fronter Molde University College s computer based learning system, including information on study programmes, messages from lecturers, information about handing in assignments etc. Study programmes and courses are organised in separate rooms at Fronter. The first information you meet when you have logged on to Fronter, is your personal start up page, showing the latest updates of the information you can access. Log on to Fronter: https://fronter.com/himolde To access courses at Fronter you have to register for these courses at StudentWeb. This should be done at semester start, and at latest by 1 September. Usually students can access their courses at Fronter the day after their registration at StudentWeb. Assignments are usually handed in electronically at Fronter. At Fronter you will have access to a room for assignments if you are writing major works or project assessments. In this assignment room, there will be a link to the layout with a front-page, links to instructions and other relevant information. Outlines and advice are gathered at the Fronter at the room HiM Student info. Registration for resit/retake examination takes place at StudentWeb. Deadlines for registration will be announced at our homepage. Faculty of Economics, Informatics and Social Sciences (ØIS) Registration for courses and regular examinations take place by approval of the education plans at StudentWeb within given deadlines. Students have to do this every semester. Registration to new and resit/retake examinations take place by registering for courses at StudentWeb. Deadlines for registration will be announced at the homepage. Withdrawal from exams The last deadline for withdrawal from examinations is 1 week prior to the examination date. This goes for regular, as well as for new and resit/retake exams. However, please inform the Faculty Administration as soon as possible if you do not intend to sit for the examination. Special needs during exams Students in need of special arrangements during examinations due to medical or other reasons can apply for this. Your need must be documented by a medical statement issued from a doctor or by another health professional. Please check your e-mail on a regular basis. Mailboxes for students Postal letters for students are placed in these boxes. Please check them on a regular basis. You can find the mailboxes at the A-building, opposite the Student Services. The Library University College Library is open for everyone. The library offers books, journals and a number of online databases (subscriptions are valid for students and staff). The library is a place for studies and a meeting place, where you can search information, find literature, study, read, learn, write and produce. If you need help or have questions, just contact the library through the information desk, email or phone. You find the library at the top floor, A-building. Student Welfare Organisation The Student Welfare Organisation, http://www.simolde.no is responsible for student housing, kindergarten, cafeterias and the book store. The reception is located at the same area as Odin Bookstore. Student organisations The Student Parliament The Student Parliament is an independent organisation with the aim to work for the students professional, democratic, economic and welfare interests.
